Shit. Don't know if I should grab this and the others individually or get the bundle I've had my eye on recently: https://a.co/d/bDPCW6z

I prefer the XT70s, but I'm sure the XT60 is gonna be an upgrade from my T60s either way.But now I see the price has dropped about $80 for this bundle too! Decisions decisions...

I've been meaning to replace my front 2. They're old Denon HTIB that cosmetically look like crap. I'm more concerned with the cosmetics for replacement, sound quality has been decent.
I've had a deal alert set up to replace them with decent quality... might just have to bite here.

I'll probably wanna change out my rears also someday. It's a Pioneer VSX-822 5.1 receiver that I have with a powered woofer.

I picked these up in early 2022 for a little less than this and use them as computer speakers, powered by a small SMSL digital amp. They sound fantastic, and offer a fuller and clearer sound than the Andrew Jones Pioneer SB-BS22 speakers they replaced.

I wish I had another area at home to justify picking up another pair.

I just returned my Edifier R1850DB's for these and the Polk's definitely sound better, but you will also need to get an amp since these are passive speakers.

Does anyone have any recs for speakers/desktop monitors around the same size? Only thing I need is Bluetooth connectivity, I've gotten tired of using the aux with my current speakers

I don't know how the numbers work but since 1850 is greater than 1700, i'm assuming the ones you returned were better than the ones I bought. I want to use these as computer speakers so maybe the receiver will be a nuisance. Would you say the sounds are drastically different?

You don't need a big receiver, I'm currently using a Fosi BT20A pro but you can definitely find something cheaper. The only reason I went for this is for the pre out which allows me to connect a subwoofer. If you can get the speakers + amp for a similar price range as the edifier I would say it is worth it.

the 1700bts has the sub out so not sure if i will ever use it. Coming from one of those 20 dollar logitech comp speakers, this is a crazy difference. But since the price is similar to the polk one, I have no idea what brand is better.

I feel like you'd be better off getting the self-powered ones, but otherwise you'd need a receiver/amp. These speakers take audio and power via the speaker wiring. Something has to be pushing the power to them. If you're only going with dual speakers, you don't need a 5.1 (or better) receiver.

-----------------------

I bit. I'm replacing old Denons with 3" woofers 6ohm. They look a little beat up, so my initial reasoning for getting these is cosmetics, and given the reviews it'll be a nice bump in quality too.

My rears I'm leaving as is. Already have an aftermarket Yamaha center, and a powered woofer in my 5.1 setup.
