    Looks like these new packages have approximately 10% less sheets per roll (sheet count 3540 sheets per roll 295 vs sheet count 3936 sheets per roll 328).

    To my surprise, I remembered the item being more cost-effective in the past. Out of curiosity, I decided to review my previous orders. It was then that I discovered an evident case of shrinkflation. Previously, they used to offer an 18-pack of this product. However, it appears that the 18-pack has been discontinued. In its place, they've introduced a 12-pack but, disappointingly, at the same price point as the former 18-pack. I noted that this change was first implemented on March 20, 2023. It's unfortunate to see such practices where consumers receive less for the same amount of money.

    Per sheet is one factor. Folks may need to consider the other main difference. Comfort. For me, strong TP is fine. For wifey, not happening. The only reason there are fewer sheets of plush is because it is more plush (thicker). Less room in the package to have the same sized package.
    If it's all about sheet quantity, try the Scott 1000 sheets per roll TP. This will illustrate exactly what I am talking about. It is on the extreme end and you will need to double up at least so think of it as 500 sheets per roll. But you'll need to build up some callouses after bleeding a few times. Some people love it. I've used better in gas stations.

    Then there is the area factor. Square inches. Northern narrowed their sheet width over a decade ago. I wrote them about my complaint. I had to start overlapping sheets which means using more for the same job. They acknowledged it. They lost me as a customer. Shrinkflation.

    Tofuvic uses area (square inches) in his value comparisons. I don't think he factors thickness though.

    How does this or the ultra soft/strong Quilted Northern compare to Charmin Ultra Soft when it is on sale for about $6 off at Costco. That is the only time i buy it there.

    Note for those in older houses this will clog pipes much quicker than 2 ply. We have smaller diameter cast iron pipes and with scale/rust it doesn't take a lot for this to cause backups. Bummer since its softer but back to Costco 2 ply.

    I ended up buying the 32 roll quantity of this same deal for only $23.91 with 15% sub/save and $1 coupon. Comes out to less than 75 cents per roll, so that's a deal for ultra plush in these mega size rolls.

    The above said, I know about the legend of Tofuvic and his TP calculations. I also agree with C2nah777 that you can't just use per sheet or even square inch calculations when thickness is a factor. And clearly, thickness is a factor when dealing with TP. That said, would we not all agree that a better metric might be weight? How much does the TP weigh in ounces/grams per roll? Has anyone ever compared based on weight per roll of TP???

    We've been buying Cottonelle Ultra Comfort Mega Roll which is 325 2-ply sheets, the purple packaging. Anyone know how the Quilted Northern Ultra Plush (255 3-ply sheets) compares in terms of comfort?

    One of my biggest pet peeves is when you pull to tear off the TP and it shreds instead of coming apart along the perforation between sheets.
