Are these even worth it? Thought about the ryobi version when it was under 50. 80 seems too high, even with a battery.

I get it has a lifetime warranty (mixed results on claims it seems), but these should not be as pricey as they are.

They all seem like bad deals. Tool brands, Ego, doesn't matter. They are hoping you look at the batteries you have laying around and want one of these.

Modified sine wave, of course. Whomever makes one of these compact units that's pure sine wave, I'm switching to their battery system.

I think for most specific cases where you would use this there are better and cheaper options. However, it's nice general purpose thing to have around. I wouldn't buy one if I didn't have several batteries already. We use ours all the time. It's nice for emergencies if you need to keep devices charged or run your tv or internet router when the power is out. It seems like we find uses for it all the time. Like running holiday decorations at trunk or treat.

Depends on what things and what battery.

I'd consider one for $40 without battery. Neat for dry camping, but I can also just hook a cheap inverter to my boat battery and get power for days.

This is pretty useful when I am on the road with no plugs for the laptop. I got the Milwaukee version back in January for the same price of $89 but it came with the 5ah battery. However, the Milwaukee comes with one less usb-a port. I just need the 120v and usb-c.

Includes: AC 120V Outlet, USB-C PD (45W) Port, and USB-A (2.4A) Port

If you don't already have a pile of Ridgid 18V batteries you keep charged up for other things, there is no deal here that would interest you. For those of us that do keep a pile of charged 18V Ridgid batteries around, this can be a fantastic tool to have, especially in emergencies.

Last year Direct Tools had a factory blemished it for less than $50 on sale, but my order was never fulfilled. Kinda bummed, but haven't had any emergencies that left me hurting. This is still a pretty decent price, but I'm going to be patient for a batter deal on this one. It's still worth a rep and thumbs up, though.
