It looks like they are charging tax for the full price of the item.

Example, Rokinon 135mm
$710
$42 tax (6% in my state)

after discount
$710
$42 tax
$142 discount(20% of $710)

Feels like I am being overcharged by $8.

That is odd. But hear me out. Ebay is the one paying for the discount - the seller is not actually ebay. I believe the people/stores selling these things are still getting paid the full amount (part by you and part by ebay) so they're charging you sales tax on the full price.

It's kinda like how it works for manufacturer's coupons.

Ebay is so scammy. They charge final value fees with shipping too.
They had to. Had to counter the scammy shippers: $100 shipping for a $5 item.

Free shipping is the only way.

Refurb Pixel 6 128 for $200, good deal?
I just traded in a 6a to get an 8 Pro. If you look at the trade-in values that the Google Store and Best Buy are offering, it looks like you could wait and get a better deal on all the traded-in phones that are going to be dumped on the market in the next 4-6 months.

I have the Pixel 6a 128 gb and it is fast and I highly recommend it. I paid $300 for it used in excellent condition from eBay about a year ago. Google has just released the Android 14 software update for their Pixel phones and the Pixel 6 would qualify for the update
I had a good experience with my 6a. Good size, battery lasted a day, but the camera wasn't great and it doesn't have wireless charging. Just traded it in on the pre-order for 8 Pro for the MUCH better camera and longer support. But the 6a is good for a regular day-to-day phone with light gaming. Did everything I needed.

If you look at the trade-in prices, (I got $100 from Best Buy for the 6a) my guess would be that prices for the used Pixels are going to drop. Saw an article yesterday noting the huge drop in trade-in value for the 7 Pro. So shop around.

Horrible phone from a horrible company. They have gone downhill and are not the Google that made Silicon Valley what it is, greedy foreign CEOs ruined it.
What was so great about them in the past in comparison to today? They offer some of the least expensive premium smart phones on the market. The pixel 8 currently has the highest ranked screens available according to DxOMark and the camera will probably be at the top also once the scores come out. The only area they can probably use some improvement is battery life. I'm not sure what other aspects of a smart phone are important because they all offer similar functionality now days and you can download limitless launchers or apps. I feel they have gotten much, much better when it comes to smart phones..

Wave Uh, you do know that Google was co-founded and run by a "foreign CEO" right? Not defending greedy CEOs but being "foreign" has nothing to do with the greed part, as much as you may want it to be.

Not sure why all of the thumbs down on this comment, I guess the truth hurts.
I am trying to see what was the quote for that comment with "Horrible phone company...".. couldn't see that post in this thread any more. Was that post deleted/edited? I couldn't see any posts in this thread by user 89turboii.

Yeah eBay is terrible with overcharging sales tax. Would have pulled the trigger many times if not for that BS.
Since they started adding tax years ago, I can't figure out how sellers even make money. Especially with that 13.5% seller fee that's included after taxes the seller doesn't even get. I only sell there if it's something I just don't need or can't sell locally on Craigslist or marketplace. Almost always lose money.

The governmafia complained that they weren't getting their cut, so they had to start collecting taxes.

Their fees are the bigger issue. Completely unreasonable

Ironically, now legit sellers have to charge higher shipping across the board to make up for their ridiculous fees

Ah man. I didn't see that. It's $30 more (but not listed in these deals). Still happy with my purchase. But appreciate the info. ^_^

My understanding is they are a little different though. 600 has top firing speakers & supports dolby atmos. 700 is older & doesn't support DA or the top speakers but is bigger/overall better sounding.

Not sure if I made out like a bandit, but I got a used iPhone 14 pro for 643.00 (no tax, Delaware resident) after the discount.
