FOR PEOPLE FLYING OUT OF PHOENIX:

I found a lot of flights out of Phoenix to various destinations, like Los Angeles, for $29 each way. That's a pretty sick deal for round trip of $58 + tax.

Flying to San Diego was $39 each way, but only on Tue/Wed flights, which is awkward.

Phoenix to Vegas was like $39 each way, which isn't bad, but pretty normal to get $99/round trip tickets from Phoenix to Vegas, so not exactly amazing.

Phoenix to Burbank, CA was $29 each way. This is actually a REALLY good price for Burbank. The reason you may want to consider this is this is where you would fly in if you were going to to go to Universal Studios. Planning a trip for the family? Snag up this deal! Much better than going to Disney these days given how expensive Disney has gotten, and I can attest that Universal Studios has really stepped up on their attractions. They also have Harry Potter world there, and my kids absolutely loved that.

Phoenix to Salt Lake was not amazing at $59/each way, and since this is the winter, not really best time to go. You can also fly Allegiant Mesa to Provo for like $89 round trip ALL the time, without needing to go to the awkward Mon-Wed flights to get best deals. Ya, if you are taking bags, probably not worth it, but if you are going for a few days for whatever reason, Allegiant is just fine for a 90 minute flight to Utah lol.

I tried to fly further out, like Phoenix to Orlando, or even to a large airport like Dallas and was not finding any great prices.

One thing that did surprise me a little was Phoenix to Bellingham, Canada (about 50 miles from Vancouver), there were a LOT of flights for $125 each way. For people thinking of doing an Alaskan cruise, of which many port out of Vancouver, $250 is really not bad for round trip there. I have done several cruises, and while I usually fly Delta direct to Vancouver, I have done the Southwest to save funds when I was dragging my 3 kids, as it only cost me like $80 for Lyft from Bellingham to Vancouver, and $80 back for all of us, when it was gonna be like $250 extra for all my bags on Delta, each way. Maybe I am just cheap lol

Seattle had decent one-way out of Phoenix for like $69/each way, which is also a city where you often embark out of for an Alaskan Cruise, so keep that in mind too if planning.

Flying from Tucson NOTHING was a good price...

This is one of SW's actual sales. Use the desktop site as SW's mobile and app aren't as friendly when it comes to finding deals. In addition to the very few $29 fares, there are quite a few $39-79 fares as well. As per usual, origination/destinations are limited, dates/times are limited (it's literally in the title), etc. so on and so forth. Search your origination here (hopefully link works), then use the low fare calendar:

I thought their last sale was more of a "real" sale than this one. At least it didn't have time of day restrictions and it had less blackout days.

This sale works well with the new same day standby for all fare types. Can always buy a later flight and show up earlier if you see tickets are on sale for an earlier flight that works better.

That's because Delta has almost 60% of the flights out of there with Sun Country as their only real competition. Just like Atlanta, there is no need to run flight deals.
Sun Country is rubbish compared to Southwest. Ridiculous baggage and carry on policy too

I feel this way about all of their "special sales" and feels incredibly gimicky to me. Fantastic if you find the needle in the haystack deal otherwise I feel like we are donating data to their AI models with all the searches we are running on their website!
