If your kid(s) enjoys snap circuits start doing some research on (solder free) Arduino (or equivalent). It's a natural evolution of snap circuits that uses actual components and brings in programming. It will likely take some oversight by an adult to get them started though. Great STEM project to get kids interested in technology.

The box says connects to other brick building sets so I certainly expect it to be lego compatible. I think my son is going to love this one.
