this is an entry level Sony

The high end $700 TCL 65" R635 from Costco for $50 more is several tiers better.

Isn't Sony picture quality much better than TCL? At least that's what I felt when I saw side by side comparison in Costco. Don't know much about the specs.

This is a low end model as I've said. Sony's high end model, which costs 3x more is much better. So obvious, this low end model will have REALLY bad picture quality when compared to their high end model.

This low end Sony is still going to look as good as a $250 TCL or a $350 Samsung

But what's more important is, for $50 more, you can get TCL high end, which will look VERY GOOD, as good, if not better than Sony mid/high end. Sony top tier is actually very good, and won't cost anywhere under $2k I think. I'm not going to fact check that number because it's out of your budget since we're looking at a $650 TV right now

which model did you do a side by side comparison with? (I said model, not brand)

To put things into perspective.

Low end insignia or Westinghouse is complete garbage. You might as well buy a broken TV

Low end Samsung TCL Hisense and probably this Sony, will be acceptable to pretty ok.

I don't talk about mid tiers. Waste of time imo. What's the point of spending more money for marginally better?

High end TCL and Hisense are amazing.

The best of the best will be Samsung, LG, and Sony. It will cost 3x more for 5 to 10% better picture quality than TCL and Hisense high end model

I have lots of low end TCL S4 series, some mid tier TCL S5 series, some low end Hisense, low end LH some random mid tier Samsung, and high end Hisense, and high end LG

I regret all my mid tier purchases and low end Westinghouse lol

I don't regret my high end LG C1 $1800, but I can't tell the difference from my Hisense U8H $800. if I'm looking for it or if I have a black scene, I'll probably correctly identify the OLED LG C1

They're basically the same. Overall, the r635 is better at videogames, q750g is better at sports

Again, they're the same and you can't tell the difference. Buy the cheaper one

With the sweet TV+warranty deals we have been seeing the past couple months, I'd think most people would be better off snagging one of those. Ideally, a TV is a product that you'll get thousands of hours of usage on and it just doesn't make sense to cheap out if you have the means not to. I'd save up a few hundred dollars more and get something far superior. Ive never once regretted doing so with TVs.

It's 60hz, had to go into the detailed specs to get it. Total failure of costco and slickdeals
