I own the 35L and have owned it for several years. It's an okay pack but I don't really like the way it carries, especially when you compare it to other brands of similar size.
This is a great pack for alpine climbing and scrambling, where a robust hip belt could get in the way of movement, but you'd be happier hiking with something a bit more supportive.

What does the S/M and the M/L indicate since the size of the backpack is the same?

Looks like a nice pack except for the waist belt that seems insufficient for the weight that could be carried in the 35L. But, then again I supose that's how it only weighs 2lbs.

How do these compare to Osprey bags?? I'm in the market to get a nice hiking bag but everyone tells me don't get a cheap one.

Damn great deal. I signed up (takes 1 min) for their site account, got free shipping. Then used rakcashbk for 5% back, then used PayPal with chase freedom for 5% back. $56, free ship, (plus tax of course) is a VERY good deal.

Exactly. This is a technical scrambling bag. This is not a hike all day with a heavy load on fairly easy trails. The features of the bag are amazing honestly (for their specific set of focus, carry gear to climbing rock wall and then scramble to belay… removable top is epic, with rope tie/grab handles. Interior trad gear clip ring… belt tucks away (super important).

Ospreys in general are cush. They have heavily padded frames, waist belts, and straps. They are comfy to carry, but they are heavy bags.

My plan is to hike a 6-8 hours on the weekend. Would this bag work??
