Will bite at $149 they've been 199 off and on for a couple years.
I wasn't aware how many different models there are until you mentioned it.
Here's a breakdown/review:

I have elite stage 2, but if i could go back i'd rather get these. cheaper for stage 1 and the increments are easier since i'm not a fan of the internal handle weights to make small adjustments. Not the biggest deal.

Still my favorite adjustible set. So simple that they are extremely reliable, and the flat ends make it so easy to rest on thighs and kick up for heavy weights. The 'cage' box doesn't interfere in most of my excercises.

my biggest gripe with like bowflex is how awkwardly wide they are and felt like i couldn't drop them or else would damage mechanisms. Sitting on thighs wasn't the most comfortable either.

I almost needed a cleanup on aisle 1 until I realized these weren't the expandables I've been waiting 3 months for to come back. Nice set though. Recommend immediately at this price for most.

Sorry you missed it. They were back on sale last week - $284 for the pair and I jumped because they were around 40% off retail. They just arrived today.

I would have bought these instead for $85 less - I haven't gotten past the 40 pound pair I'm currently using yet and don't expect to soon. Maybe the 50 pounders will move me past this plateau.

For me, the ability to adjust the weight of the Elite EXP in 2.5 pound increments was worth the extra $85 even though I will likely not need to expand them past 50 lbs. any time soon.

You can get these for cheap if you're patient on FB. People buy them, use them a few times, and collect dust.

Got these during the pandemic for $230. They're a great set for the casual worker outer.

I bought a set of these a while back. The square style is a bit annoying to be honest. There are times where it will hit your wrist. Seems minor, but it impacts range a bit and it's something you need to think about when using them. If I could do it over again, I'd get a set that are round

Lol I mean.. Technically you can buy these and put the first 4 plates on the handle, then put your stage 2 and 3 on. You won't get the full 90lb, I think only 70lb total. Also the labels on the handle won't match either. Also there will be a bit of space between the plates but I read on reddit you can just stuff it with whatever spacers to keep it from sliding.

You'll have a frankenstein type of dumbbell lol. The handles on the EXP and the non-EXP are identical in shape/size minus the adder weights. So technically they're exchangeable.

I purchased these last time they were available. TBH, I kinda hate them. Don't like the selector. Doesn't feel sturdy.
