Been watching reviews and you all have good points. I went and looked at the Full Array vs the Mini Led and it is arguable which has the best picture. That said this is going in a living room with varying degrees of day light and lighting at night, and the mini led has a much better reflection coating and control than the full array. I had been a Samsung guy for my last several sets, recently the 75 inch 8k version. I had service on that TV twice now, once for a screen issue, which they replaced and then a few months later the power supply went out. There are cheaper sets out there, and the Hisense is certainly up there with picture quality but, I am finally going for the Sony based on weeks and weeks of reading and reviews. This isn't all about the cheapest price, its more a balance of picture quality and overall quality of the build. Plus I sold my 5 year old 82 inch QLED for $900 so that helps take the sting out.

This TV reviews are great. My questions is it worth the 1k premium over the U8? That's my struggle.

Same question. Is the improvement worth $1000?

I know going from my $400 TCL to $800 Hisense was night and day difference with better brightness, HDR, and HRR, and they are both considered "low-end" TVs. I mean I was blown away by the difference in picture and PS5 performance.

I suspect diminishing returns in this price range.

I'm sure this has an amazing picture but you have to ask yourself the question is the juice worth the squeeze $3,000 when there's plenty of other TVs that are right above a thousand that can compete.
yeah either go oled or go with a $1000 unit. these other LED versions are pure nonsense.

loved this TV in the showroom, but it is very expensive 🫤
At that time it was $4k for x95k. Even at $3k, it's a big ticket spend, but if you are absolutely looking for the premium this one it is.
Maybe you only notice the diff side by side, but the pic quality is superb

I have to agree. I spent extra money on a mini led Samsung over the same size led from Samsung and I cannot tell a difference and wasted money. Reviews were better for the mini led one too. ¯\(ツ)/¯

Qn95c better but good luck finding one. Qn90c, no. Good TV but it's using IPS panel.

Fact that Sony discounted this flagship non oled already says a lot. Also agree with other comment not spending more than 2k for any TV in 2023.

Well I thought the reason for the discount is for clearance since this is a 2022 model? I'm dreaming for a discount for X95L

To add onto this. The QN95C is truly a unicorn. I previously had the QN90B 85" and the panel was faulty. A thick yellow streak on the left hand side of the panel and it has horrible DSE. Samsung agreed to replace the panel, but they couldn't source the part. I was offered the QN95C 85" as a warranty swap. My wife and I quickly agreed to the offer, and we've been enjoying it ever since. Personally I'd take the QN90B/QN95C over the Sony because I need 4x HDMI 2.1 ports. I have my XSX routed through my Denon AVR -S790H, and every so often my Xbox will tell let me know that 4K120, VRR isn't supported. I'm using the proper Zeskit Maya 8K cable. I'm tired of fiddling with it. I need to remount my TV so I'll be running my Xbox Series X directly to the TV, and my Apple TV 4K will be routed through my receiver.

Most people would argue that the X95K/X95L is better for upscaling older content, motion handling, and processing. Until Sony supports 4x HDMI 2.1 ports, I won't buy a Sony OLED or Mini LED. I'll change my time if I can get the A90J 83" for $2500 or so. It would be strictly for movies/TV shows.

The Sony tax is real with their high end models. This is the lowest price for the X95K so it might be a good time to jump on it if you've been waiting on a price drop.
