I have to imagine the price will keep dropping particularly on the lighting version. I don't even care which version I get but my regular airpods are getting tired.

In for 1. Lightning or USB-C is irrelevant to me since I charge them wirelessly plus I have several lightning cables lying around that have never been used. Great deal for me.

I own the lightning version and have never used the connector. I charge them wirelessly.
