If you are going to use the 20 lb tank I highly recommend you use one of the Mr. Heater fuel filters with any generic hose OR buy the hose F273704. Otherwise oil will leach into the fuel stream and more than likely clog and ruin your heater. Numerous videos and articles about this issue out there.

Maybe a decent deal, but I'll never order from Northern Tools again. They screwed over a bunch of Slickdealers including me last year. They advertised a free Milwaukee inflator with battery purchase. Then shipped just the batteries with no inflator (and no notification of order change). When confronted,v they claimed the free inflator was a mistake, despite the fact it was still advertised as an active promotion on their site. They wouldn't even pay return shipping for the batteries.

It's the only time in 25 years of buying stuff online I've had to dispute a charge with my credit card.

Sure, any company can make a mistake, but the handled it in the worst way and were downright hostile towards their customers.

Caveat emptor.

I bought 2 of these and they came with a fan... QA indicates that they come with a fan, but you'd need to confirm that. I find that the fan makes a big difference. The ones I got looked like new.

Thanks. These refurbed units are on sale at Bass Pro right now for $66.98, just bought one of those instead.

You have a different model. That one has a fan, these DONT! I have the one with a fan and it's green. The red ones don't have them!
Not true I have two Red ones WITH fans in the back. Also to correct the original statement it doesn't need the 4 D batteries to run, it runs without batteries. The batteries only operate the fan portion to spread the heat out sideways and the natural convection goes up as well so you get a double effect. The older models had fans the newer ones don't.

So are these sales for "New" or "older" models?

Appreciate the info. I won't entrust a filter for potential long term respiratory issues - especially if children are near, and close proximity is necessary due to questionable fan performance.

I beg to differ. I just went through this. Using their brand adapter hose and filter, it would only work on low. But, after reading into it, I learned that they come with a quick connect adapter by the left tank connection, and that they work ideally with a regulator hose with quick connect end.

I ordered this one from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B7H5DMV

And everything works perfectly now.

The problem apparently that comes up with the non-regulated hoses is that full pressure propane likes to extract oil from the rubber hose, and that is what you are adding a filter for. Reduce the pressure with a regulator and the problem disappears. And those adapter hoses have valves that don't always open enough for medium and high settings. The quick connect adapter solves that problem. Any regulated quick connect propane hose should work great. Anything else is the wrong solution.

I was at my local Sams Club today and they had a pallet of these - WITH fan - hose and power-cable for $149.98.

This link should allow you to see if your local Sams Club has these in stock:
