Hot deal, kudos OP…. questionable if we will be seeing much better than this the rest of the year considering the price, Legion 7 and 7i being top-shelf build quality atm, good gpu compromise via mobile rtx 4080 (downclocked desktop 4070 ti in practice), and nothing skimpy here.

Main thing holding me back is my lack of time to game these days, but another huge factor is the massive boost to minimum frame rates with the upcoming x3d chips. Outside of a single laptop design, those CPUs wont be widely available till q1 2024. Maybe not worth the wait for anyone itching to buy, but the results speak for themselves -

Still… this deal is pretty awesome. Not quite as good as the deal a month or two back that had a 4090, 32GB, and 2tb ssd, but close.

Mixed bag. Better efficiency on AMD right now, but Intel historically has the edge in long term stability and compatibility via updates. Fewer crashes, weird issues, etc.

History aside though, AMD has been knocking it out of the park vs Intel these past few years. Except for a blip during Athlon's heyday, I've run Intel in every system dating back to the 90s. Those days are over. My next desktop gaming system is almost certainly going to be an AMD cpu. 7800x3d is insanely good for the recent sub $400 pricing, and has mind-blowing power efficiency. Similarly, if the 7945hx3d is any indicator, AMD is about to do something even more impressive in the laptop space. I'm hoping for a mobile 7800x3d equivalent shows up in laptops in q1 2024.
