I thought it was nationwide but in SoCal they've been doing this all year on Fridays.... must have been YMMV.

While the free fries weekly isn't new,The threshold purchase being $1 makes a drink eligible again.
In the last few months I've had a minimum $2 purchase for any freebie deals,

My app always have free large fries with $2 purchase, EVERYDAY. On Friday, it changes to free medium fries with $1 purchase. Friday's deal is worse for me.

Never saw the large fries deal. I am, however, seeing (occasionally) a "free 10pc McNuggets with $1 purchase" on my end, though.

My app never has free anything... the app allows you to buy a "large" for 1.19. They only fill the container about half way regardless of what size you buy. Add to that every mcds I've been to in the last year is just serving old fries they made hours ago and prices went up 2x in the last couple months on everything they sell. Def I'll be skipping this.

Someone above said 'the drink can count toward the $1 purchase.". Their drinks are like $3 here and no longer 32ozs

Last year I had free fries with $1 purchase almost all year. Soda counted for the $1 purchase, so most of my purchases were Soda + Fries. This year it is $2. Unable to find items that are just $2 or bit over. McD forced me to be healthy. I am no seeing the deal OP posted yet. Will wait to see if it pops up.

I have free fries (any size) with a $1 purchase each time I download the app. I don't like to keep it on my phone and uninstall after each purchase, but that one's always there.

they used to have any size fries for free with any $1 purchase every friday for more than a yr. until they change to "medium" fries only recently. like the past 3 months. their medium size is getting smaller and smaller..
