Just sent xm4 earbuds back to request warranty service. They were sell by secondipity on eaby. Even they are still sale $99 now. Allstate company send the original purchased price $149 check to me.

Out of the box. Qc45 sound better. I tried tweaking the bass more for the qc45 but it just doesn't give that nice bass tone. It still sounds light to me.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 is what I ended up with. Best Sound of all I have had and tested and can custom eq - not the best eq but Can at least adjust. XM4 or XM5 for noise cancellation - nothing beats them. The sonys has good sound, but not as good as the Sennheiser. The Sennheiser has decent noise cancellation but nothing near Sony. Sennheiser heavier but feel better built. If you wear headphones for a long time might not be beat option, but I chose for the sound. The Bose are super light, I didn't like the sound reproduction and they feel too light - cheap feel. I use the mic for phone calls and the Sony and Sennheiser are great. Skullcandy mics we're terrible. I kept some clearance Skullcandy Heat ANC buds to work out with - $45. Pretty decent if you don't want to use your over ears to workout with. Sony would be a much better option in the gym.

The 2nd reason I chose the Sennheisers is because they can connect to 2 devices at the same time. I Can Connect to my computers dongle and my phone - super slick feature. The auto connection when you get near the headphones is both annoying and nice - you can turn it off though.

So if you want noise cancellation and decent sound/bass - Sony
If you want best sound quality go with Sennheiser
If you still feel you need something that weighs nothing and like how Bose modifies the sound go with them but I don't think they are in the same class as the other 2 - all preference though

How is this headphone for people with big head size? I had one Sony in the past but it didn't fit .

I haven't tried either, but I highly recommend RTINGS.com for any headphone details and comparisons. You can actually pull up a side-by-side for these two to get an in depth look.

This is true. The QC45 have a weird bump in the treble region. Most people don't care and will choose new tech over sound signature.

I replaced my qc35 cushions about 2 years ago for $15...very easy to do!

I've had my qc35s for about 9 years now...say what you want, but Bose def had a winner in that product. The AAA battery lasts forever, and even if it does run out, you can still use the headset as regular headphones (as long as you are plugged into a headphone jack).

The noise cancellation is on when you turn them on but turn off after a few minutes if nothing is playing. The trick I use is to just play a track that has minimal noise or is just background like rain or something.

Similar to you, I don't like the clamping force on almost every headphone pair. These are pretty good and don't clamp down hard. I can wear them for quite some time. If you go to rtings.com, you can sort headphones by clamping force and these headphones are in the top 3 (I think) for lowest clamping force. But I get what you're saying and in the ear wireless headphones have really good noise canceling now.

Briefly chiming in here -- but these last year and have loved using them at work. My criteria were primarily comfort and then noise cancellation. These are comfortable to wear because they don't clamp down (and are relatively light) and the noise cancellation is excellent.

I realize these are not audiophile headphones, but they do a great job of blocking out sound when I need to focus on work and the sound reproduction is pretty good.

The problem with most audiophile file headphones for me is that they clamp down hard, giving me a headache. I'd say I have a regular size noggin. I have stretched/adjusted the headbands (usually using a volleyball), but that doesn't change the nature of the clamping force and it just means I can wear a headphones for perhaps an hour at a time. I don't have that problem with these Bose headphones and didn't even need to try to gently stretch them out.
