Have both. The XM5 has better noise cancellation on planes. Considerable difference IMO. Bose are more comfortable and have better clarity. XM5 has better bass.

I bought them for $200 Black Friday 2022. I'd recommend them.
They sound great, the noise cancelling is very good, but not quite as good as my Sony XM4's. If you're putting away silverware or clank a glass, the Bose attempts to compensate and winds up sending a loud counter clank.
However, I cannot recommend any Sony's. The XM4 earbuds had the dead battery issue and my XM4 headphones have the random ear piercing squeal with ANC. Their quality control and reliability are not worth the risk.

I think I paid 200 for these at Costco last year? I'm no audiophile, but they're easily the best pair of headphones I have. Super recommend.

Was sorely tempted by the Bose Ultras from Walmart. But I don't think they're +50% better than these QC45's, which price-wise, they are.

What's Costco's return policy on headphones? Can't seem to find anything specific online. Some are saying that they are electronics, therefore 90 days, other say they aren't specifically mentioned in the 90 day list of exclusions, so their longer return period applies.

Until you or the headphones die.

QC35 is better than QC45. So if Bose follows a pattern then
I have the 35 but was thinking of upgrading. Why do you think 35 is better than 45?

Are these more comfortable than the Bose NC700s? Been using those and it works great for Teams/Zoom only thing it does get hot after a few hours. I do love the noise cancellation as I had concrete drilling right outside my office and the people on Teams/Zoom couldn't even hear it.

I bought 700s and they seem to have almost no noise cancellation compared to AirPod Pros? Does that have to do with the lack of seal on the cups? I can hear everything.

This or the Sony wh-1000xm5, which is also going on sale?
I have both. For me these are 10x better
1. I have tinnitus, my hears hiss 24/7 and the noise canceling makes it stop. So I LITERALLY wear them 18hrs a day. The all day comfort isn't even comparable. 45 are better
2. 45 have physical buttons which are a must for me. I won't even upgrade to the new bose because I like physical buttons.
3. Because of tinnitus I fall asleep with them on. The xm5 always activate on touch, the volume changes and stuff

MOST IMPORTANT the Bose you can change source from the headphones which is soooo important for me. Say I'm watching my Apple TV and someone calls on the phone, with the xm-5 you can't pick the phone. U gotta hope to get to the remote in time then mute it then hope it automatically switches. With the Bose, I literally have 8 devices set up and I can switch from the headphones.

The ONLY time I'd reccomend the xm-5 is for short 1hr MUSIC session. Like if someone said "listen to x new album" I'd probably pick up the xm-5

Don't. The touch and lack of an off button in a BIG downgrade

You says the ultra doesn't have a power button?

Totally agree, qc line is great. Had qc 35-2, now have 45 & going strong
Which do you like better QC 35-2 or the 45? Any pros with the 45? Wondering if I should upgrade

Target, bestbuy won't price match this because it's Costco member only right?

They won't match because it's technically a different item- the QC45 with a soft case instead of a hard case.
