Have both. The XM5 has better noise cancellation on planes. Considerable difference IMO. Bose are more comfortable and have better clarity. XM5 has better bass.

I bought them for $200 Black Friday 2022. I'd recommend them.
They sound great, the noise cancelling is very good, but not quite as good as my Sony XM4's. If you're putting away silverware or clank a glass, the Bose attempts to compensate and winds up sending a loud counter clank.
However, I cannot recommend any Sony's. The XM4 earbuds had the dead battery issue and my XM4 headphones have the random ear piercing squeal with ANC. Their quality control and reliability are not worth the risk.

I think I paid 200 for these at Costco last year? I'm no audiophile, but they're easily the best pair of headphones I have. Super recommend.

Just ordered a pair, almost pulled the trigger on the refurbished deal on eBay but would prefer getting them new and from Costco, the soft case being my preference anyway.

ANC will be very slightly worse than without glasses but will still be excellent.

Can't speak for these but I got the QC 35 II and after 2 years the cushions started flaking and they would randomly turn on even though the power switch was clearly off. If they fixed those problems I would say this is a good deal.

Do you sweat when using? Like mow lawn wearing them? They have sleeves that can go over them if they are that bad but Sony's will do that too if exposed to elements.

Personal opinion but tried upgrading from 35-ii to ultra but had to return. The clamp on the ultra were too much and started to hurt. QC 35 never hurt me
