Seems like Newegg is continuing to clearance out its proprietary Rosewill brand. Pretty good deals on various docking solutions with 100W Usb-C Power Delivery.
Not the best reviewed according to the site however, so buyer beware.

I understand your philosophical position here, but you're glossing over some fairly serious problems with these docks.

First, let's recognize that we're not talking about "$13 docks". This is SlickDeals. You can search Amazon by yourself at any time and find a $13 dock that claims these capabilities and take a chance. These are marketed as $79.99 - $99.99 docks that are on clearance. Even assuming that the MSRP is greatly inflated, we're still ultimately evaluating a product that would normally be priced much higher than $13, but has been reduced in price and, commensurately, might represent a serious value to the discerning shopper.

Under that model, the reviews are extremely troubling. How could a hub market itself in this price range (again, between 80 and 100!) and not support USB 3.0? Similarly, why is the cord so short? It's all about anchoring. The product has tried to anchor itself as a premium buy, but it's actually not--it's not performing in line with its MSRP, so the reduced price of $13 *does not* represent a huge value opportunity. It's actually just a price correction due to its poor performance.

Finally, *given* these issues, I would be very hesitant to use it for USB PD. It's quite possible to so badly engineer these devices so that they damage compliant devices, and based on the other shortcomings, I lack confidence that this hub is built-to-spec.

Put another way: a random $13 hub isn't necessarily a deal. There are risks involved in any purchase. Those risks are supposed to be mitigated by a higher MSRP, because it implies higher quality materials, warranty, QC, etc. But if the reviews contradict that assumption, then we're back at a random $13 hub proposition, and not a crazy good discount on a premium product.
Reviews say these are terrible.

Not worth the hassle, headache, and frustration with crappy products no matter how much of a "discount" there is.

The regular price of these is very inflated compared to better rated items on Amazon.

There's a reason why these are discounted. It's future E-trash.

not a good post. no free shipping like op said.
2 of the items show free shipping, oddly the "Rosewill 12-Port Laptop Docking Station, 4K Ultra HD MST Hub, Supports 3 Video Outputs" does not. Shows $10.50.

https://www.newegg.com/Rosewill-D...D-2177-537

First and third item clearly listed as "Free Shipping" though.

Did you read the reviews? The only "terrible" one on Newegg is a 1 star of "Not capable of advertised speeds." Sorry that doesn't sound like 1 star or "terrible" in my opinion. I certainly don't plan on trying to test out max speeds on a $13 hub. Perhaps you might?

There was another one were someone complained the cable as "short"...OMG! Terrible!!!

But please post a better rated $13-20 dock with power delivery, I'd love to cancel my order at New Egg.

I need some help understanding these docks/hubs.

For the first one (7 port), there is no barrel type power input. Will this work as an unpowered hub, assuming you do not need to charge/power your laptop with it and only using for connecting accessories? I see there is a USB C PD port. I assume this is meant to connect to a separate AC adapter/brick as a power supply, and then the integrated USB C connector can charge/power the laptop, is that right? Can this USB PD port be used to connect something like a phone or USB C flash drive to allow file transfer to the connected laptop? Or is it only a power input?

Next question: are powered hubs/docks better than passive/unpowered hubs if only used as an accessory hub to connect mouse, monitor, etc. and not needed for laptop charging? I tend to only use giant mobile workstation laptops that don't get enough juice from these USB C docks so I need to connect a separate power supply anyway. I wasn't sure if the powered docks are better/faster, etc. since they get external power and can maybe perform better (stability, speed, etc.) with more power.
