In my local store:
  • sometimes clearance items are still on their original aisle
  • previously, the clearance aisle was in the area of the light bulbs aisle and pesticide aisle
  • recently, they've started putting toy and other clearance items along the path between electronics and groceries

Every store treats clearance differently. Some have a dedicated clearance isle(s) where they toss everything. Some have small clearance sections in each dept. Some keep items within their respective departments shelves with regular items, just clearance stickers. Some have the clearance on the small shelves in the walkways in front of aisles.
Some stores (like min) to a combination of these...

Walmart shows no stock for this at any store near me, so saves me a hunt.

Can confirm stores have it on clearance, but very much YMMV. One and only one store near me had it on clearance for about $130 a few months ago, but couldn't find it at any of the other probably 6 stores near me constantly monitoring BrickSeek.

It took me a while to learn my lesson years ago, but I finally am able to resist ymmv Walmart clearance deals. Years ago I'd drive across 3 towns in hopes of getting some 75%+ off thing I didn't really need yet come home empty handed. But you're the devil tempting me with Lego Star Wars. The devil!!
