I bought this computer 2 months ago for $1599 and so far it fits all my needs. Very quiet with the liquid cool and never overheats even playing high intensive games or running plenty of programs at the same time. It's 650 w power supply. The only thing to note is that you need to install Microsoft store manually through Xbox app as it didn't come with it, and then install all the other windows essential like notepad, calculator, snip it, etc. would def buy it again especially $100 less now.
Well, it is a gaming rig, so the 4070 would not be overkill for that purpose. If you want to just poke around the net, then yeah, the whole thing is an overkill. For gaming, it seems to check all the boxes (for me anyway). I've built dozens of systems, but just tire of messing with it. And, there is the Costco warranty match, so it has a 2-year warranty. 90 day no hassle return. Good stuff.

The price is not horrible if you do not know how to build your own. I guess. I have not done a partsfinder compare; however, a lot of the cost is going to that 4070 that may be overkill for most.

I saw an almost identical MSI Aegis [costco.com] at my local Costco this weekend but with a 16GB RTX 4060 Ti instead for $1400 and thought it was a good deal. Never got around to post it, and there is no point now. For an extra $100, this is much better graphics-wise.

Liquid cooling is a nice plus too. And some game comes free with the 4070 card. Online only though, and that adds $15 shipping.

This. For the most part you can always build for cheaper than you can buy, but your time has value. I haven't built a machine in awhile and I'd need to do all the research, then find the best places to buy, purchase, receive, assemble....... all while having a life.

Same for me. Building PCs isn't "fun" for me anymore, so paying a little extra to save some time is nice.
