It does not support band separation, you cannot have 2 separate bands and some smart devices won't connect with the default 5GHz . Everything is controlled through motosync app and if the server went down you can't control anything. motorolanetwork site is down for last few weeks.

Good price but not a misprice in imho. They are dual band and often $90 on eBay. Looks like just a deal where 3 pack is on offer and 1 pack isn't.

I have these, and it is one of the few that lets you set a dedicated 2.4 network for smart devices.
the guest network can be either 5ghz or 2.4ghz.
The wifi is spotty but if you place it on the second floor it works without disconnects.

The low price is very tempting but after reading the intermittent drops from the reviews, reminds me of the MB8611 modem I have with not so good experience of intermittent re-starts. Just have to avoid Motorola brand for now when it comes to internet devices. I still have my TP Link M9 Plus (WiFi-5) chugging along just well with 1gb internet service.

Hard pass on that. Not to mention all the data they're almost certainly collecting on your internet activities, due to everything being connected and dependent on their servers.

Man, with no ability to manage outside of an app that may or may not be down at this point or another this is a hard buy...

Normally I would say for anyone that has internet no faster than 500Mbps to jump on these cause the price is great. The coverage of these units is great. It also comes with parental controls and free spyware protection so it checkmarks a lot of boxes. Right now this is still a great deal for people who are looking to maximize coverage and have 300-500Mbps internet, if you have faster speeds hard pass.

Almost all the mesh WIFI systems I've installed over the years work this way. It's not unusual. Everything is configured and controlled by an app on your phone or tablet.
