Not "nearly identical" at all. Most importantly the HF option has 20 bins, not 12, which are much smaller than the bins in the Dewalt If you want more bins, go HF. If you need larger bins, go with this. The Dewalt is also much sturdier plastic and has chunky metal clasps.

I have both. They are huge difference. Harbor freight ones are more flimsy. Case cover and dividers are soft and quite flexible. When in closed position, the center is not tight so small items may cross to different bins.

DeWalt is much nicer and sturdy built. All bins are nice and the entire exterior casing is hard and can withstand impact if dropped. Overall size is slightly bigger as well. I got 3 of them during BF for $9.99 (before inflation) each. So you may want to take a gamble to wait until BF.

Harbor freight was like $5 or $6 after coupon, but I would not buy HF again if I can get the DeWalt at $9.99. But don't get me wrong, HF has its value. You just get what you pay for.

Not all plastic and processing are created equal… that's cool you're ok with HF, but they ain't the same by any means.

I have about 10 of the larger $10 sale price Dewalts. Hold a lot of hardware weight and clip together, I usually keep them in 3 packs. The HF and HD versions are NOT the same as these.

If anybody prefers the shallow bins but doesn't want to pay more for a smaller box, and has a 3d printer, there are tons of models for the deep box out there for stackable shallow bins, segmented bins, etc. Makes them super customizable!

I have a lot of the husky and deep dewalt. Depends on the parts, if you fill the deep dewalt with bolts they have some hefty weight, but handle it fine.. Husky for under 3/8s and about 2".

Yes, they stack. These are part of Dewalts "Pro organizer" system. Anything labeled "Pro Organizer" locks together. They have other sizes in the system too, but the deep and shallow full size boxes are the best.

I agree, I bought 20 of the deep ones when they were $10, bought 15 of the shallow ones at $12. Not sure I'll buy any this year and if I do, I won't buy more than a couple. Hope the deep one goes on sale again, but I doubt it will be 10 again. If all of the black Friday deals are higher this year again, sales are going to suffer. Everyone I know is already tightening their spending.

I'd pick one up now if I needed one. I don't see this going any lower for black Friday.

It could go down to $10, but I doubt it, and even then, I'm not gonna lose sleep over a couple bucks.

If they were smart, they'd price this one at $10, and the full size one at $15 for bf. Oh, and don't get me started on the gorilla platform that was always $20, I'd pick one up every year.
