Any tips on the "hackable" aspect? My closest HD is about an hour away so doing it online would be helpful.

9ah is $116.95 with the "hack" - buy the tool and battery, each are itemized on the receipt. You can then return just the tool and keep the battery. Credited accordingly.

EDIT: NVM, they took that option out. Best option for you is probably get it shipped to you and then make the trip back to return the thing you don't want.

Not sure if they allow this anymore, but you might be able to send what you want to your HD. And then send what you don't want to another HD. Eventually they'll just cancel the thing you don't pick up, but you might need to call them too.

These are $120 at Bomgaars right now. No need to "hack" anything.

You can order online. Within a day or so, your order should show both items separately with their apportioned prices. If it doesn't, then the hack didn't work and you can cancel the online order. If it does, then you just need to arrange to return the tool.

It is if you want the tools. And bomgaars charges shipping.

Just chat them right after your order it takes 5 mins and they cancel whatever part you want. Simple as.

I wrote a guide nearly 5 years ago and haven't updated it in nearly 3 years, but it still worked the last time I checked earlier in 2023.

If you'd prefer, here is a screenshot of the guide.

I hope this helps,

What's the best 60v tool?? Seems lots of reviews say they just aren't that much more powerful and are much heavier without a proportional benefit vs XR??

I have the 60v circ saw, angle grinder and leaf blower. All three are noticeably more powerful than their 20v equiv, which I've also owned and sold. Next on the list of upgrades is the 20in chainsaw and then the recip if I go at another house renovation. The 20v gets the job done on most things, but the 60v counterpart is going to be faster.

The 20 inch chainsaw has overheating issues. I wouldn't bother…
