I see the same thing with drivers in cars. Hardly any of them get out to push. Could be they have different goals in using the cars, maybe just for transport and not for exercise like me. Personally, I push my car every time.
If you max zoom the first image, it looks like there is both a throttle and a microshift controller (grey box). Normally that would be enough for me to roll the dice and order at this price, but the reviews are atrocious (all negative over the past six months).
Side note: I started to trust Walmart reviews far more than Amazon since they are usually more brutal and not as easily manipulated. They typically tell you when a review has been incentivized and you don't have people flattering every product to get upvoted so they can be a paid influencer. It is a sad, sad world when Walmart becomes the refuge for responsible retail…
Lol. This is exactly what I was thinking. Like the dude really thinks people who get electric bikes are doing it for the exercise more than anything. I wonder if he realizes that regular bikes exist for people that actually want to exercise. 🙊

It's an inexpensive e-bike with a priority battery that may be difficult to find a replacement for. Very low line components and pretty heavy. At this price point you can't expect much. If you can service and repair it yourself that would be a benefit. Most Bicycle shops won't tough these cheap bikes.

Our local shop LOVES cheap bikes. They make a lot of money repairing them.
Almost ran over kids on ebikes more than once. These things will help control the population growth. I'm a biker too but these things goes too fast for novice riders who doesn't seems to understand flesh and bone doesn't do well with pavement or cars.
So you both think e-bikes are not intended for fitness, only for cheap transportation? Now I see why their are so many people riding on the wrong side of the street using throttle only and doing 25mph with no helmet. No brains-No headaches.
I hate having to get into the left lane with 3 dozen cars going over the bridge, and then after, trying to get to the right lane, to drop off my packages every day. Yeah, I might start fully wearing some body armor. I am going 34 mph to keep up with traffic on the bridge, panting, peddling with all my breath.
The guy who just bought a ebike off of me said his last one was completely totaled, and the one before that. And he repairs them too. Ended up telling me that he has been hit 6 times in the last year, on his 10 mile trip to work and back.

That's a big assumption. For those who want to get in shape it's helpful. Especially when starting out and not fully understanding your stamina/limits. E.g. you can pedal out until you run out of steam, then throttle back vs trying to guess your halfway point.
Throttled e-bikes aren't great for fitness use because you lose the connection between movement and pedaling. The stronger association is between the throttle button and movement, so you forget about the pedals.
If fitness is a goal and you just need assistance from the motor, what you want is pedal assist from a torque-sensing mid-drive motor. They are more expensive, though.

I personally just think of it as, if I peddle more, I can get more range. This helps me when I go on longer journeys.
Throttles will make you lazy and you won't benefit from any exercise. I see it all the time, people riding all over the place and never pedaling at all.
Who cares.

That said, I have a thumb throttle on the left and I like it better.
