At 50% off, this will work out for most to $3 or $4 for a baseline drink, which is a decent price for a 'crafted' beverage in practically any context. The $10 drinks you imagine are in reality those of (many) customers ordering ventis (largest size), then adding shots, pumps of flavored syrup, ingredient substitutes, etc.

nothing in my Offers...
Besides, a Venti Frappuccino (for example) is under $7 regularly, so it's not a bad deal at 50% off. My problem is that they do this sporadically, and when they do, there's a time limitation! 12-6 on a weekday is (intentionally) inconvenient!
