Man this is such a great deal on an 850fp quilt, too bad I already have a 3 season quilt. But its too short anyways. The original price on this of $329 is a bit crazy as you can get a custom quilt from hammock gear for cheaper but I would probably value this at ~$200.

review say these are best for temp in the 40 to 50.? most likely low goose down
The advertised temperature rating on sleeping bags is usually the EN lower limit. It's usually good to add a minimum of 10 degrees to that number for a comfortable rating, although it depends on a lot of factors like the insulation of your sleeping pad, how hot you sleep, gender, and others.
Used to have the magma 15 bag and really liked it but the temp rating is more of a survival rating on these. I would expect this would be a great quilt for 40F+ nights.
Bought this last year for about ~$160 (regular size, 30F), and really happy with it. This is a good deal if you don't want to go the custom/cottage industry quilt route.
I don't understand the value of a quilt over a sleeping bag. I camped in a chilly environment using a friend's quilt who raved about their utility. It seemed much colder than a normal bag with openings at the feet and back. Is it a comfort thing?

Don't buy this if temps are below freezing. You will need an extra blanket.
