I suggest playing Yazkuza 1 & 2 before 0.
Yazkuza 1 will introduce you to all the main recurring characters.
Yazkuza 2 (Kiwami, this edition) has a tighter story and runs on their latest game engine.
Yakuza 0 is awesome, but you want some context on the characters to enjoy fully!

I already have Yakuza 0. I'm not sure if I'll get Kiwami and Kiwami 2 for this cheap soon, so I'll just buy this whole set. Yakuza 0 was fun as hell.

Not sure why there's downvotes, but this is at most the bare minimum correct order. Most ideal order is release date order, but I understand it's long. So worth it though, I see it as it all being for Yakuza 0 and all the context throughout the series.
