This seems like a really good deal for 1440p and 180hz.

Is this one of the ones where they advertise 1ms but if you turn on freesync it doesn't work?

Gotcha. Cancelled my order, picked up the Dell G2724D for a bit more instead.
Was there a deal on the G2724D?

Seems subjective, my current monitor has 250 Nits and I keep it at 90% brightness.

Good price on this. I'd consider if I hadn't bought the Dell G2724D with a couple American Express cards to save $100 when AmEx was running that credit.

It's currently on sale for $270. Its peak SDR brightness is around 440 nits and it goes up to 165Hz refresh rate. I bought it for less than that with AmEx Dell credits (it wasn't on sale at the time but worked out to $200 plus tax).

If you need a brighter monitor and don't care about the slightly lower refresh rate, it might be worth the extra money. Or, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are close so prices might be better soon.

I am looking to buy a monitor for my 13 year old son to hook up to his Xbox. Is this a good one? I want to spend $250 ish. Or maybe another suggestion?

People have been talking about some Dells with good pricing and specs right now so I'd take a look at those threads. That said, mine (this Asus) came in yesterday and I am very happy with it. No regrets about it.

My monitor is like 65hz and I don't really notice ghosting and such in games, but I probably don't play many fast twitch games or I don't know what to look for. Do these high refresh monitors have any other benefits besides being better at games?

Brightness is pretty low at 250 cd/m2

Here's a good review for it: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...tuf-vg27aq
That's a benefit, normally turn the brightness down on an IPS the moment you get it in the first place. Those really bright panels are terrible for eye strain

If you're trying to utilize HDR you need at least 400 nits. It depends on what you're using it for.

Agreed. My home office is a bonus room with one window on the end away from my desk. I think I have this one at 70%

Debating between this one, the Costco G271CQR at $170, and ED270U P2bmiipx for $145.

The biggest factor seems to be the benefit of an IPS panel in the VG27AQ3A. I'd be using it for console gaming only (Xbox Series S) about 22" away.

Does anyone have experience with these?

It's like 4K viewing. You don't feel like anything is better when you play 144hz. Then when you go down to 60hz from 144hz. You feel the immense difference. Your perspective change and your day will be ruined.

I don't think you can adjust the height on this right?
