The trade-in for 14 plus is 470$ on apple as of today - total cost is 5350$ + around 320$ taxes on over 3 years (Phone + Line) - the offer is on a regular phone and long term plan commitment - it will still be beneficial for some folks but not a slick offer

i'm in for this. needed to combine 1 metro pcs line, 2 t-mobile lines, and 1 mint line.

The promo still works if you mix and match plans and phones. I'm getting 3x iphone 14 plus for my parents and a household member, and a iphone 15 pro max for myself on unlimited plus plan, trading in a iphone 11 for $830 credit. comes out to $145/month + tax (including $11/month for the pro max).

i don't think this argument is fair. the phone will be unlocked, so you can sell it to offset the lost credits if you're getting a different phone. It might be less than the credits, the same, or even more considering iphones' residual value remains high.

Avge iPhone lasts more than 2 years, so this is a decent deal if you have 4 lines and needs a new phone. You can always trade-in these phones after a year or two if needed

having said that I'm an android guy with flip5

you are screwed because you will be stuck with iphone 14 plus (or whichever current phone you have if you activate those instead) for 3 years...holy shit.
Is that really bad? Don't think so. Not everyone is up to that hype to change the phone every 1-2 years. My phones for example usually run for 4-5 years.

Here is another little bonus to think about. For ported-in lines you should qualify for a $200/line Switcher Rebate that comes as either an ecard or physical card after 90 days. Look into it. It may require the slightly higher monthly plan(I think Unlim plus), but for $800 in savings it could be worth it.

Oh, yes, and don't forget that if you do this as a Costco member at the stores with a VZW kiosk, you can also be eligible for a $250/line shop card. So lots of angles here esp if you will need 4 lines. Multiple threads about these deals. Do your homework and save a bundle is possible.

yup, i saw the rebate while checking out. there's also a free apple TV 4k after 30 days, which I'd put it at $100 value since I wanted to replace my old apple tv anyway. that basically made the one iphone 15 pro max free for me as well.

i also have fios internet, so it's actually $25/month for the 3x unlimited welcome plans, and $40/month for the unlimited plus. Much cheaper than what I was paying in total for the separate lines.

Verizon fees are strange. I once had non-expensive postpaid plan with them, the fees were 50% of the plan.
I used to have a strange fee "city utility users tax", $12/mo with T-Mobile. I called many times to find out what it is because my sister didn't have that fee. No one could explain at T-Mobile and they would tell me to call my city.

I finally left them for straight talk, them cricket and now metro and never been happier. FK postpaid.

One day I got a letter in the mail from class action. Finally it caught up and they got sued. The letter said I can get $5 refund for each month I was charged! Yay, it was like 8 years 2006 to 2014 ish! I was so excited.

So I called the number and they said I have to submit paper bills for each month I was charged. Wtf. So I called T-Mobile (mind you I'm not a customer anymore) and they said they are happy to research my account (closed 2 years prior) and send me duplicates of my monthly bills for $5/mo. Wtffff? So basically the class action was worthless for consumers. I wasn't going to spend $500+ on a bunch of paper and spend a huge amount of time making a spreadsheet with dates and amounts and mail them to some lawyers office hoping I will get just the $5 back.

Moral of the story: Friends don't let friends get postpaid cell phone service.

I pay $25 a month for unlimited phone and Internet. And I ran 278GB of home Internet a month on my plan last month.

This deal is garbage, especially considering the mountain of fees you will pay every month.

I don't know why people are excited about 3 year contracts. We had those back in the early 2000s.

Maybe we should bring back night and weekend minutes too?
