I thought we could start a thread for any streaming deals that may come up, because with the writer's strike, i keep hearing this will drive up costs for streaming platforms.

With streaming prices climbing, do you think this year Hulu will do the $1.99 BF special?

Let's put any deals in one place for easy access and so there aren't 8 threads for streaming deals.

With Disney buying up Hulu, I doubt the bundled Hulu/Disney deal will occur this year...been a nice ride for the last several years getting Hulu/Disney bundled for $2.99 per month.

Yep. Streaming prices are also expected to increase, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with. I heard they want to increase subscribers big time, so who knows.

I think streamers are in a tough spot. Streamers are mostly losing money so they need to charge more money but when they raise prices, more customers cancel. Also, the ease of being able to cancel and start another service is going to make it difficult for any of them to keep customers on yearly plans. Getting a customer for a month or two is not going to work for them.

Unfortunately for the streamers, ultimately the best route is going to be to get out of streaming and just license the content library to Netflix. Leave the cost of the servers to them. The big question is who is going to survive as the second streamer? There's really only room for two in most industries.

Plus the strikes aren't helping at all. It's just going to wipe out their new content for at least 6 months so that'll drive up losses even more for the streamers.

So - is the 2.99 Hulu targeted with individual codes? I've checked all of the emails I've used with them in the past and none have offers.

Hi! Happy Almost BF!
It depends on if you were offered this on your Amex offers page and if you accepted it.
If you were not offered it, it will not work. Check all your cards. It was only on one of mine (Platinum) and then I had to accept the offer to get it to work. Like other offers, if you accepted it and you used it, it should trigger a "You just used your offer" email.
Hope that helps as you are always super helpful! Smilie
PS; If you didn't see/accept it, do it now and it should apply for 6 more months.

Hello Minifigg, old friend hows the refinance world lol!

Just to be clear the $11.64 charge will be what I'll be billed once the current promo is over so around 11/25/2023 so I wont see the offer redemption email until that charge posts as I've setup the right Amex for it.

Its the Amex Blue that has this "Benefit" and I did accept/activate already. Unlike Offers that Amex people get this is more of a benefit as listed. I assume I'll get the $7 credit in anycase as its going to be $11.64 a the min spend looks to be $9.99 but the question i have for anyone who got it is if did trigger as its not a bundle the way they have it listed as its Hulu with an Addon....oh well lets see in a couple weeks.

do you know how much it was offered for the Disney+ (no ad) as add on?

i did the 1.99 + 2.99 together, and next month it become 7.99+2.99. but if the Disney plus bumps up, i may just keep it as is.
Same. It's still a good deal because Disney Plus doesn't have ads with that plan.

My Hulu won't auto-renew until 11/25. Plenty of time between now and then for them to do their annual announcement of either $1.99 or $0.99 for another year. Then I cancel and sign up with my other Hulu email address. The ultimate rinse and repeat.

If you cancel do they 'offer' a cheaper rate for 6 months or more?

Haven't had Hulu in the past but hoping they offer something this year with a Disney+ deal. What does that look like for someone that hasn't had it before?

Yep i saw that too. Though if there is a deal that might change. But I'll risk keeping it an lose $10 then have to spend $10 to get Disney with Ads.

I already cancelled Paramount Plus. I mean whatever the cost was with Ads was horrible. So unless the next year is under $40 again. No way i'm touching it.
