I thought we could start a thread for any streaming deals that may come up, because with the writer's strike, i keep hearing this will drive up costs for streaming platforms.

With streaming prices climbing, do you think this year Hulu will do the $1.99 BF special?

Let's put any deals in one place for easy access and so there aren't 8 threads for streaming deals.

Did you all hear rumor that Disney plus is talking about shutting down their streaming service since they are losing money on it?

I think I heard Bob Iger say that Disney+ and Hulu will be in a combined streaming service by late Q1 of 2024. No idea what that'll mean subscription wise.

Just noticed thread above mine....anyway, I think solo apps will continue to exist but a combined app will beta in December

It's not current, but may be coming up...Walmart plus sells for half a couple times a year and it includes free paramount plus. The price of Paramount plus alone per year costs more than the $49 i spent on walmart+. Watch for the banner bar across the top of their home page.

If you follow SDs, P+ premium , w/o annoying ads and including Showtime can be free or close to free. Using Sportsline or other promo codes and cancel tricks. I value the P+ benefit with W+ at $0

It looks like they are still going to charge separate prices for Hulu and D+, even though they say they are merging. I've watched everything I wanted to see on D+ already and I'm not a really a fan of re-runs excepting cult classics.
I've also watched everything I wanted to see on Paramount.
I have never a seen a deal for Netflix though. I do sometimes see Netflix gift cards with a few % off, but it's rare, or my ability to find it is bad.
I grabbed Hulu at the BF $2.99 / mnth deal and I barely watch it, so if they throw a special for D+ then I'll stick around for another year but probably just going to pass this year.
I don't see anything interesting on HBO/Max or Peacock, or the other smaller streaming networks.

Help.. I have the old D+, Hulu, ESPN+ combo. They grandfathered me into the plan (Legacy bundle, 18.99/mo.. insane)... if anyone knows of a better deal.. please post.

We watch them all, but D+ and ESPN+ the least.

I bought a 77" OLED to watch 10 bit HDR movies, but instead it just streams Disney+ content 99% of the time. The $2.99 Disney no ads is too good to lose. For now the cancel trick worked but I wish Hulu would stay $2.99.

Where do you find the Hulu deal for $1.99 a month. I looked at their website and it is $7.99 for the basic. Thanks

VERY NARROW but posting it anyway. : Netflix and DIRECTV
If any of you are Luddites like me and still have DIRECTV, they are running a "Pause" ad (the annoying ads that run when your TV is paused), that starting BF, you can add Netflix to your DTV at a "Special" price.
Now, knowing DTV that "Special Price" is 3x what you can get Netflix for on your own, but I'll check it out on BF nonetheless and report back...
I'll go crawl back into my cave now and try to make fire.
