Why so quiet on this deal? My son's pc has my old GTX 1070, is this a good deal for an upgrade for him? He currently has a 1080P 144 Hz monitor, gis games are mostly fortnite, valorant, overwatch, etc. His birthday is next week, and he likes Spiderman to boot. Yeah I know, we all hate NewEgg, but the price seems reasonable...
It's still a bit higher than most would like and I'm sure people are tired of seeing "Zip" deals. There were complaints in other threads about these kinds of deals showing up because it flooded out other posts when you could just have one post about using Zip.
If it was $350 or less without Zip, I'd say it's a good deal. Compared to the 1070, this will be much faster, and in your case, this would be a nice GPU. But overall, it still being 8GB of VRAM vs the 6700 XT offering 12GB for $300 most days just feels bad. Especially when they're fairly similar in performance, though the 4060 Ti beats it in some games and then ties in others. In practice, the difference in VRAM isn't felt in most titles, but just as a value proposition, getting less VRAM now means you're more likely to need an upgrade in the future.
If you want to keep the upgrade simple though, this isn't the worst deal. It will work well, and be a notable improvement over the 1070. The only other thing to worry about would be how old the CPU is and how fast your memory is if you really want to start squeezing more performance out of the system.

Yeah the Zip deal is interesting, I never used it before, but I wanted the savings so I gave it a try. You save $36, but there is a catch you pay a $6 finance charge, so net is save $30, still better than the promo code.
I wanted to try ATI cards again as the price/performance ratio proposition is favorable. In fact several years ago I got a RX 5700 XT, unfortunately what a mess, the drivers sucked, games crashed left and right. I just can't get on board with ATI/AMD graphics these days. I had to go back to team green NIVIDA for the reliability and stability.
I decided to give this try, my boys are Spiderman fans so worth a little extra for the 'cool' factor. I also like my Zotac 3080 ti, it's been a strong performer.

It's an upgrade in the sense that it's way better than what you have right now, but for the price you are buying a card that has maybe a year or two good performance in current games, but for just a little more (relatively speaking) you can get a card with more vram that will easily last you 3-7 years.
One big pro of the 40x series is the lower power consumption. I would personally look for a refurbished 3080 for $100 more over a 4060 at this price.

Question, does using "zip pay" thing incur hard credit pull? (Considering it is a form of "financing")

I have an 6800xt and a 2070 Super, both companies have driver issues, stick with the stable drivers and only upgrade if you need to for use with a new game.

I think for 100$ more u can get the 7800xt which would be a better buy for not too much more. The future proofing of that can give u a few extra years.

Thanks.
No hard pull, very innocuous overall - simply allows for payx4 convenience. Was better before they started adding the transaction fee, yet still works overall for spreading the budget creatively.
