Steam shows if still requires the EA launcher…

Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA on-line activation and Origin client software installation and background use required.

Requires 3rd-Party Account: EA Account
As someone who played through all three ME games I cannot recommend this enough ! Graphics are a bit dated compared to today's games but you'll love it for the plotline/story and characters .... some strange advice.. if you really want to get hooked on the game, play Mass Effect 2 first... then after being blown away by that go back and start a new game with Mass Effect 1, play ME 2 again (which you'll want to because it's such an awesome game) and then finish up with ME 3 ... the ME 3 final ending is one you'll either love or hate but either way I loved this series enormously (personally I enjoyed the ME3 ending though I know there were others that did not, huge controversy over it but I recommend you NOT google search that or it will spoil the whole ME3 ending for you)

Trust me at this price you want to go ahead and grab it ... it includes all the DLC if I recall correctly and the only reason I'm not jumping on it is I purchased all three games prior to the legendary re-release and the DLC that came with it a long time ago.

And yep I read about that whole censorship thing, here's a reddit thread that says what was actually censored, apparently not much

https://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuIn...ually_got/

https://censorship.fandom.com/wik...0worldwide.

Now here's where things get crazy.. someone asked if there's a mod to restore what's missing (basically it's the camera angle for one character, Miranda, and her, ahem, posterior and that's it as far as censorship strangely enough ! If I understand correctly that is ) ...

There was a mod made back before the release of ME legendary by someone who was unhappy about the original Mass Effect 2 with the camera paying so much attention to Miranda's posterior so they made a mod to shift the camera angle to not focus so much on her posterior.

Then the same person who made the mod found out about the censorship in the Legendary edition, basically said "there should be no censorship enforced by the video game publisher" (or I'm guessing the mod creator said that anyways, they didn't say that in so many words but that's the conclusion I would reach personally) and put out a mod that restores the camera angle exactly to where it was before just like in the original game.

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseff...escription

or if that link doesn't work just google search "Miranda Butt Shot Restoration (LE2) nexus mods"

apparently there was some censorship of... once again... Miranda's butt in ME3 so here's another mod that deals with both ME2 and ME3

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseff...?tab=files

or just google search "Miranda Butt Shot Restoration (LE3) nexus mods"

see also

https://www.pcgamer.com/mass-effe...y-edition/

( I know, why this obsession about Miranda's butt in the game? There's a whole controversy about how Miranda was too sexualized and the camera shouldn't be focusing on her butt during this really intense personal conversation she's having with Shepard but .. still that's the only thing the video game publisher, Bioware, decides to focus on? Why the fascination with just Miranda's posterior while everything else gets ignored that could be controversial ? The romance scenes are, erhm, steamy put it that way and from what I understand those where not censored at all so.. why the focus on the butt? )

You'd have to do a bit of research on the ME3 tweaks mod manager

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseff...ion/mods/2

Here's a youtube video showing you how to do it

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpzm0FBg4OI

there's a lot of love for ME in the nexusmods community (free to join nexusmods by the way) so there's a ton of mods to make say a female Shepard or male Shepard (the character you play in the video games) more "pretty" or "handsome" and to customize Shepard's appearance like say this one for example

https://www.nexusmods.com/masseff...escription

it takes some work but it's a labor of love .. a lot of PC gamers love to tinker with and improve the appearance of their character this way.
It's also censored and is missing dlc from the first game if it matters to you

yeah, but modern gamers don't actually play games. They just buy games for their digital collection. That or they play for like 10 minutes then quit.
Count me in as one. Too many games too little times. The problem all adults have.

Any hacks to add it back to remastered PC version?
kcoopSo better graphics but no pr0n or nookie where the extra pixels would really count. Hmmm.. I may still pull the trigger, lol. Thank you kind sir.

Also it's worth learning how to mod (trust me it's crazy easy) just to up your resources in Mass Effect 2... there's this whole "grinding" thing where you have to explore planet after planet for resources to upgrade your ship and if you don't bad stuff happens (minor spoiler there but I've kept it mild, don't google search it or you'll give yourself a major spoiler that will spoil your enjoyment of the game) ... using the trilogy save editor lets you just give yourself those resources while you can ignore all the other stuff that you might feel would let the game get too easy for you

or just google search "Trilogy Save Editor mass effect legendary edition nexus mods"

They lost the source code for Pinnacle Station so unless they rebuilt it from scratch it's gone for good. All other content is present.

And as far as censoring goes if we are talking about the PC version, there's ways to restore it via nexusmods

Bah. I already own it on Xbox but at 10 bucks, I'd be tempted to double dip for the Pc version but the EA account requirement makes it a hard pass.

Agree. Hate this. I don't like Epic as well - don't have flexibility to install games in another drive other than C drive...plus all those DRM add-ons.

I got this for free during Prime Day last year. I think it was then tied/redeemed via EA launcher or whatever they call it these days. Do they allow mods? I'll probably just sail the high seas anyway since I'm not too keen on installing one launcher for just a few games

Anyone know if this works well on the Deck? It says playable on the page but does it actually work well with the EA launcher?

Edit: Youtube proves it works well.

Multiplayer mode was completely taken out of the game too. It was actually pretty fun and affected the main storyline.

All this talk about censoring and stuff.

As someone who did play the original and the Legendary edition, yeah, I noticed that something was missing. The gameplay and story are still top notch. Would recommend.

I still havent had the stomach to play Andromeda. Didnt even get past the first 30 mins before I got frustrated with bugs and poor gameplay. Maybe its been fixed since.

Great summary. You mentioned not needing to buy Legendary. Was the baseline for "dated graphics" with/without the modded versions of texture (etc) improvements? Sure we agree- with the game's deeper characters and good plot, graphics don't really need to carry the game, this coming from an eye-candy fan. When released, I skimmed some comparisons (yes, ME gets fully analyzed/re-fictionalized) between Legendary graphics and various mods. Appreciated the efforts from all, was enough to look forward to replay (I really was _so tempted to run ME2 first, your advice will be my pardon, lol).

I skimmed right past Now1's term. Your revelation to popular sensibilities- it reminds of like-minded Now1/Beepie friends in mid discussion ... and that happens.

Repped Now1 for starting /using a term that's appropriate for the way Bioware/fans handled/modded (most of) the character's love interactions.

I had the original DLC for the original Xbox 360 version t was kind of terrible, so I don't mind not having it. But the censorship part, I didnt even notice and I played through the original ME2 at least several times.

I would recommend the PC version if possible, for the mods. They might have mods that return whatever censorship you are referring to, but most importantly for ME2 in my opinion is the mod to remove the door and hack mini games.
