Looks like all the actual mistakes (like starbucks, apple, etc) are voided and they are attempting/trying to prevent cancellations on anything like this that didn't cost them money. What a farking scam. They should be able to easily void these or provide credit instead of jumping through 1 mill hoops

Just to report. Big hassle. chatted with several CSRs (getting transferred 3 times) for 40 minutes now but they refuse to give any credit. Just offered to return/refund the $50 card.

Just cancel any unshipped orders to avoid this hassle.

Same issue as everyone, amount changed to $20.72 when delivered. I went ahead and redeemed them all anyway, and then chatted with CSR. They escalated to a specialist and will get back to me within 48 hours. I asked for the credit ($25-$20.72=$4.28, times the amount I ordered), so we'll see what they do.

I loaded the $20.72 gift cards onto my account and went to look at my account later and there is now a $0 gift card balance and a long line of entries in my account that say:

October 27, 2023 Balance withheld -$20.72

I then decided to try and load a card I was going to use as a Christmas gift and I get this message:

The gift card has been deactivated.

What the heck is Amazon doing? This is a giant mess. They deactivated all of my cards but haven't refunded my purchase price.

Same here, they did that to all of mine as well now after I redeemed them and chatted with CSR.

A lot of work over a 17.12% discount on gift cards that was not out of the realm of being a legitimate sale.

I guess they are most likely going to refund at the end of this. Oh well, it was worth a shot.

I ordered 10. Amazon sent an email saying they cancelled my order and gave me a $25 gift card.

I had the same issue with another similarly discounted gift card during the frenzy the other day, they insisted on shipping it almost overnight because of prime even though I didn't need it that fast, and this morning I received an automated email that my gift card is being invalidated and that for my trouble, Amazon is providing a $25 gift card credit. The credit does appear on my account and does make me whole, because the amount saved even with 15% off Amex promo, is roughly the $25.
