This uses a 12v DC input, meaning it has a external power brick. Not sure I've seen that for a full size video disc player before.

Also note that it only has a single HDMI output, which could be a limitation if you use an older AV receiver. Many UHD blu ray players have dual HDMI outputs so that you can send the full UHD HDR signal directly to the TV, and the full quality digital audio output separately to a receiver that might not be able to pass through or process the 4K HDR.
if you have a Samsung tv Dolby vision is irrelevant
Yes. Its' sad.
Streaming has yet to match the audio and video quality of physical media.
Video to some extent may be okay, but audio is just garbage from streaming compared to physical media.

Physical disc will be gone soon. Bestbuy will stop selling physical bluray discs in the coming months.

Best buy will also likely be chapter 11 soon - does this mean people will stop buying TV s?

UHDs don't have regions, so of course it is region free for UHD. I was letting people that that in areas in which there are regions, this is not region free. Ok?

Never understood why you would need wifi on a physical media player?

Some discs have special content that requires internet access and there could be firmware updates.

Thankfully Best Buy does not have the final say.

Physical media is not going away. You're still being able to buy it online. Many Brick and mortar stores won't carry them in the stores, but I order all mine online anyway.

Anyone know if this (or any) DVD/BR player will start playing the movie without needing to navigate the menus? My father-in-law with Alzheimers watches movies all day (he has 1000's of DVD's) and he can change discs but can't figure out the remotes or the menus. It's be nice to just pop in a disc and have it start playing the movie.
I noticed that a lot of my discs will start playing automatically on my Panny if I just leave it sit there for a few minutes. Don't know if that goes for all of them, but it has happened to me where I just put the disc in and didn't press any buttons because I wasn't ready to watch it, and it finally just started on its own.

Thanks. That may work, but not fast enough. We found him yesterday hitting the BR player with the empty DVD case because it wasn't playing the movie (which he changed the disc himself). laugh out loud
