I believe this deal is touch, and the currently on sale one is non-touch.
I see that now. I didn't even know they made a 17" touchscreen. I just picked up the 16" 2-in-1 since that will be on sale too and I plan to do the price adjustment.

It arrived yesterday and it is wonderful. Having a 16" tablet that I can use with my touch or a pen is incredible. My only negative is the fan noise is noticeable when it's not just sitting on a desk. As soon as you pick it up, it's loud but if you fold it into tablet mode, it's quiet again. I haven't done battery testing yet to see how long it lasts. I wish I had this 20 years ago in college for taking notes.
while it wont be cheap initially I would wait for new Meteor Lake laptops that we will see around CES(chip is releasing on 12/14). Looks revolutionary from efficiency point of view as intel is at last moving to a EUV based process for their laptop chips. We should hopefully see more revolutionary changes as competition is not just from Apple and their M3 based chips on N3B releasing on Monday but also Qualcomm bringing their Nuvia chips next year which looks a monster on paper. x86 could be on the way out if its not competitive.
Intel released an I9 chip yrs ago and its barely in any laptops. They really have been stagnant as Apple dumped them and you mention this other chip. That company had the market and they must be arrogant. Their stock has been terrible.

Alright! We've got out first "wait longer and (probably) spend more" comment, and it doesn't suggest waiting until BF for a possible price drop, but until after BF for an unspecified, unreleased, unannounced product. Great idea, if you don't really want a new laptop any time soon. I'm sure they'll be bangin', but people come here to shop, not speculate about future products.

Terrible who, Intel, which is up 33% YTD? Up 25% in last 12 months. Seems like they're recovering from the loss of Apple as a customer, and fears of ARM-based laptops have faded. I don't own Intel, and they have been on a roller coaster long term, but it certainly hasn't been terrible since cratering last year, which was preceded by warning signs.

I don't know if LG is good or bad.
16GB is pretty good anyway, this is not a gamers PC.
