I'm too tired to think this out, so what is the minimal buy-and-get-out with a phone on this?

Can you confirm that the pay off price will be $36? Usually on device payment plans you get a monthly credit and have to pay off the remaining retail balance to cancel. I don't see a monthly credit so I'm guessing this might be different but wanted to double check first.

Why would you pay for 60 days service and activation... instead of 3 days and no activation?

Unlocking happens either way in 60 days.

Link? Carrier bill credits are not deals btw.
your statement is incorrect , btw.

many have insane plans with a carrier and have no intention of leaving them.

for those folks, CBC are deals

Correct. I am now , paying $168 for 7 lines including bill credits on 3 . Very happy with service till now. Atleast customer service listen to your problem when you are postpaid customers.

They are not fools.it doesn't work easily. I did this 6 yrs back with pixel phone.
You go and pay off the phone by cash at Verizon store(only). Then you call to cancel. They say go back to store and return where you bought from. I kept saying the device is now paid off so can't return anything now.
They understand what you are trying.
After 1.5 hours of fight they agreed to cancel though. It was mental stress. If you are a person who is ready to argue for hours then you can try.

I'm one. Have been on Verizon for at least 10 years. It's the only service my wife can receive in basement of the hospital she works at. Am happy with the pricing which has become more reasonable after t-mobile started their uncarrier move. Would love to move to t-mobile for the international coverage but the lack of service for my wife would be a 5 day a week problem. I got 3 of these phones to upgrade existing phones. I find it a great deal!

Called customer service and cancelled service and paid off phone, easy pezy came out to 40 bucks for device and one day of service, plus 3 bucks in tax from Walmart. I hope everyone gets it done as easily as me.

I'm same with you. Wife had Verizon and needs it (even before we got married).
Can you give me the breakdown of the final price you got for an upgraded phone?
Thanks!

I got the phone on the $36 installment plan. Will activate over the weekend and assume that my next will will reflect the $35x3 charges for 3 activations. Plan to call customer service and see if they will waive the charges. These replace a S20 5g and 2 S21 5g's used over 3 years (one with a broken glass). Will still have those to trade in should a better deal appear on Black Friday and these will be backups. Even if Verizon does not agree to refund the activation fee, I will have paid $71 out of pocket for each phone (am paying line charges anyway - whatever device is on the line).

I did the same today. Online chat was useless. I had hard time yesterday to get it done via chat. The rep kept on offering different discounts/credits. Final amount due didn't change much. It took about 5 minutes of time to get it done on call. I owe $0 to Verizon now. Btw: I paid in cash at store

Don't try online chat option. It didn't work for me in 3 attempts. Call 1-800 number. Worked for me in 1 attempt

Does the device unlock right after the payment or do you still have to wait for 60 days?
