For the PS5, wouldn't really need it for a motherboard on a PC since most have built-in heatsinks.

About 5-10% increase next year, approximately few dollars more expected because of the cut backs in production
They started cutting production in November 2022, about a year ago. If the 990 Pro is hitting an all time low today, there's no way to predict when we'll hit the bottom.

Had I waited instead of buying one of these back in April, I could've spared myself $43 🙄🤷🏽 ♂️...

I was thinking about upgrading an Intel NUC I have. I don't think I'd need the heatsink version right?

Is the heatsink model good for a PS5? Have a new PS5 for my kiddo and from what I can tell it will work?
Yes, you will need a heatsink for it to be used in the ps5 and will work fine. The drive will run hot and needs the extra cooling.

I don't think it would fit with a heatsink (might be too thick). You would probably need a thermal paste or thermal pad instead, but I am not quite sure on the dimensions of the enclosure of the NUC.

If you need a heat sink it might be better to get the one without heat sink and buy a third party heat sink for around $10.

Dang! These prices have really dropped. I bought 2 of these earlier this year, one for $169 and the other for $179. Those were the 980 pros. A 4tb for about $200 would be hella cool. It will happen sometime.

Yeah. If it turns out this one is too thick...removing the heatsink voids the warranty assuming it's the same as the 980. It's also pentalobe bits (vs torx).
