Why would someone buy this over the Legion Slim 5 deal right now for $900?

That's not as comparable to this as the Lenovo Legion 5 is, which is also available for $900, and Acer Predator Helios Neo for the same price. And I, personally, would pick the latter from these 3.

I posted this for people to have more options to choose from. Some people have issues with Lenovo being a Chinese brand. However, more importantly, it's the processor in this. The 13700H is significantly superior to Ryzen 5 in Slim 5 and Ryzen 7 in Legion 5.
Also, this has a full powered 4060 vs the gimped one on Slim 5 (putting the wattage limitations on all 4060s aside).
One thing I will certainly not side with is the atrocious battery size on this.

There have not been a lot of deals on 4060 laptops with i7-13700H at this price point, it's usually been the AMD variants. The only ones I can remember, were the Acer Nitro but it was a 17-incher and only available in-store at microcenter, and HP Victus which hasn't been on sale ever since. The only deal currently available and possibly the best deal on an RTX 4060 with great display is the Acer Neo, it is however slightly bigger and heavier.

P.s. That Legion Slim 5 is available for $900 only to Total Tech members.

Yes, they do and some pretty good ones at that. However, with their gaming laptops this year they've dropped the ball in certain specs; like, choosing to go with an FHD display (previous Gen had QHD) and such a small battery size (previous Gen had 94 Whr).

That being said, the build quality is very good. It's an all metal build. The previous Gen did have weak hinges but I've hardly read any posts of them breaking. Hopefully they improved that bit with this Gen, but not sure about that.

I'm pretty new here, but I've seen you post a lot of laptop deals and you seem to know your way around these things very well. I also wanted to know how good the build is, so thanks for the info. I might just get this, I don't mind a FHD screen, but did they used to have QHD screens at this price point?

You can find a lot of AMD variants with RTX 4060 at this price or even lesser, and even 4070 for $50-100 more. Most of them have a QHD display as well.

But if you side with the Intel chip then you've only got two options, Acer Nitro 17 (was available for $899 but only at microcenter) and HP Victus (was available for $999-1099), both no longer on sale currently. The Acer Predator Helios Neo is another amazing deal active currently for the same price, so if you don't have a problem with Acer and a slightly bigger and heavier footprint then go for that and if you do, then your best bet is this.

Great specs and nice looking laptops by Adata mine stopped working and there zero customer service and any support. Please don't buy! I am currently looking to buy another one. Will never buy this. Stay with well known brands.

This one looks risky to me. Price is not that good either. Hoping the deals get way better in the next few weeks or this is going to be another sad BF.

They are usually rebadged, or spec'ed out Tong Fang laptops. This one looks likes like their IDX series

From my experience they are excellent build quality. But you will have lack of customer support compared to something like a Dell. Something to be aware of.

If you are going with this chassis and 4060, cyberpower had a deal the other day for US$799. 12900HX there, but it beats this 13700h

This is a different chassis than those Cyberpower laptops. 15.6" 16:9 panel here instead of 16" 16:10.

Pretty much all laptops are made in China even if final assembly happens elsewhere. If they can make iPhones and Galaxy devices I think they can handle laptops.
