That ice machine is completely different. To the ice connoisseurs, you're basically saying, "why would you spend $100k+ for a Porsche when you can buy a used Civic for $10k?" The keyword here is "Nugget ice."
I've owned two of these - the first gen and now the second gen listed above. Always used filtered water (not distilled) and cleaned regularly, but the older one was quite moldy/dirty inside and eventually broke down because of it. The changes they made to the design have made the 2.0 a far better product. I'm still cleaning regularly but operation is smoother and way less disgusting filth coming out of the inside of it when cleaning. I also bought it at Best Buy and paid the additional $70 or whatever it was for the 5-year extended warranty.

I have one of these and it is amazing. the side tank is a much needed improvement but if you could hook it up to a direct filter line your live would even be easier.
The pros are simple: its a type of ice that I have only been able to find in a handful of other consumer level machines. (If you don't care and ice is ice to you, do not buy this then.)
The cons:
It can get loud. There are a bunch of youtube videos showing how it can sound. Usually making sure its filled with water fixes it but its still baseline loud.
Cleaning it is not easy and you have to do it frequently (once a month or so)
You have to use filtered water or you will have to clean it even more frequently.
I took mine down for a bit while we did some renovations and when I hooked it back up it was locked up and not making ice. I had to follow a youtube instructional and open it up and put more grease in the gearbox.
I got mine for $550 so this is a good deal. It's a luxury item though, you just want ice you don't need this
