M2 added some graphic cores so idk if that would benefit those programs. I've had the m1 since release and it's great but I don't use anything that is graphic intensive. Keep in mind while the M1 is great it's already 2.5 years old tech. This ipad released early 2021. When I buy tech I weight the savings with the age of the tech. I don't always buy the latest but sometimes the savings isn't worth it to buy tech 2.5 years old. Look at a iphone. The 2 yr old stuff is almost half off.

I'd wait if I were you to see what gets released at the apple event tonight. Though it will likely be Mac's, there might be a ipad refresh also. Both are predicted.
The major feature for the M2 iPad Pro is the hover feature with the Apple Pencil, which might be useful to you as a creator. But in my opinion, if you can get the M1 iPad Pro at a discount (which it's becoming more discounted by the day), it's not worth paying extra just for such a small update.

The M1 iPad Pros are fantastic, and will be supported for a long time.
iPads with M3 might be announced on today's scary fast event. Worth to wait for Black Friday price drop for previous gens.

Nice! Any noticeable difference between the M1 and M2 iPad Pro? I work with Sketchup and ProCreate, and have been considering getting one

There are literally no apps that take full advantage of the M1 chip, if you could emulate on this ipad, it would be a monster retro gaming device, if there were good game support, most games would run very well, but apple really limits this chip to a insane degree, its like buying a Ferrari, but the gas pedal only lets you go a fourth of the full way, keeping you stuck at 60 mph.

I agree the iPad is such a waste of computing power.

Woot charging $140 for 128GB upgrade to 256GB, but only $50 for twice as much (256GB) to 512GB? Sounds more like Apple rip-off pricing scheme.

The good deals are gone -- when Woot! had 2TB iPad 11 and 12.9 models for roughly half retail price. The 1TB/2TB models also have twice the RAM.

These smaller capacity deals are just meh...

Highly unlikely that they would put them in iPads before or at the same time as Macs. They'll eventually get M3 into the iPad, but usually there's a lag of a few months.

I have this iPad (purchased and received last week through recent eBay deal) and I love it. I tried going with the small iPad Pro but I am spoiled from using the larger screen for years.
My thoughts are about Woot. Not please with their customer service. Currently checking on a return and twice I've received emails asking for more details , details such as UPS tracking number which they gave me and order number that I already gave them. Almost seems a like a delay tactic or in hopes that I will give up. I will think twice before making an expensive purchase via Woot.
I know this can happen with other vendors so now getting off my soapbox
