I'm hoping Costco has a good deal.

LG direct has worst return policy. I had a friend that bought a TV and outside box and everything looked great. The delivery guys were in a rush, but when he opened it up next day noticed the panel had a dent and screen was slightly warped around there. LG would not let him exchange it out and had to get it done through warranty which ended up being a nightmare for him.

Return policy: https://members.us.lg.com/store/p...ame=return

Hopefully Costco has a sale soon for around this price.

G3 is bit brighter and more natural/realistic colors. It also supports Dolby Vision and DTS. Plus 5 year warranty on the panel. Much better upscaling too so if you watch 720p or low bitrate streaming the G3 will be much better.

S90C is great value especially if DTS/DV is not needed. However, Samsung has lots of quality control issues and and their version of OLED still has some growing pains with burn in at the moment since it is new tech.

If you have the money go LG or Sony OLED IMO.

I'll probably be waiting for clearance once the 4 series is out. I'd imagine the C4 may have the MLA panel too, so I may be able to look for clearance G3's and C4 sales.

Good price for those buying now though! Waiting several months to save a couple hundred dollars doesn't necessarily outweigh getting the TV now and enjoying it that whole time.

Still feels pricier than black friday. I know it's been a few years but the C1 55 inch was 1300 and the c1 65 inch was 1800. Maybe the models shot up in price but this feels pretty expensive.
Inflation.

Get an extended warranty. Bought the 65" C1 and the panel went back 16 months in. LG wouldn't do anything for me.

This is a G series though - one of LGs top
Models - you can get a 65" c3 for 1500-1600 right now.

I doubt a G1 65 was anywhere near 1800 - or even 2100 - back then!

Inflation is real but there are lots of good TV prices right now.

Would be a good deal but it's hard to justify 2000 for the g3 when the s90c will be 1-1.4k on Black Friday.

Very valid catch! I misread the G for a C.

Curios as to why these TV's would need an RS-232 port?

There was a 20% off coupon deal on ebay a few weeks ago, which knocked-off $350 from the $1750 sale price.

I struggled so hard with this. Atlas if you think the lack of Dolby vision will bother as it bothers me then just buy the LG. You will end up back in the market next year with Samsung. The fact is that HDR is 10 bit color output versus Dolby vision which is a 12 bit output. When the content is available it looks better. Hdr10 Plus is for sure a competitor but very limited content
