Have these in my office. They are relatively neutral and lively. Their sound is tailored so it is rather forgiving without any rolloff of treble so they are not warm. I power them with a Loxjie A30 with a built in DAC amp and they sound great. Their bass is crisper than the BR03 but not as deep or loud.

Not that I'm buying, but the oak blue shows a neat little oblong grill - do those come with, and do any other colors have that?

Thanks. I took am looking to either place them in my office or set them up as TV speakers. BR02 or BR03 (already have sub in both places).

I bought the blue oak back from the previous deal in early September. Mine came with a normal rectangle grill (shown in the 4th photo on the Adorama site). I was disappointed since I had been interested in the oval grill, but it's still a great looking speaker even with the normal rectangular grill.

I'm not quite sure how the oval grill would even attach - the grills on mine are held on with magnets in the four corners; there aren't any magnets overlapping with the smaller area covered in the first photo.

Wow. I think I paid about $350 3 years ago. I'm using these for my desktop setup. They are small speakers for a large room, but still kind of big for desktop use. I mounted them to the wall, slightly angled down, above my 32" monitors. Ideally they should probably be further apart from each other and farther away from the wall, and maybe at ear level, but that's the challenge with a desktop. I power them with a S.M.S.L SA300 desktop amp ($130) and a Schiit Modi USB DAC ($99).

I felt they sounded like $300 speakers. They are way better than my powered ~$260 Audioengine A2s in everyway, but they aren't nearly as good as my $900 Ascend Sierra 1s. They do everything pretty well without any significant flaws. The imaging is better than I expected and so is the bass extension, but that bass might affect the mids which aren't as detailed or forward as I like. Overall I'd say these speakers are neutral to warm. Also, I've only used these with my one cheap amp. A different amp might be a different experience.
