Tell me you're not a photographer without telling me you're not a photographer.

This is a strobe light, not a constant light. It pumps out 600 watt seconds of power (which is more then the sun produces). You can use this light with the sun being *in the background* and it will overpower the sun and illuminate your subject (even with your aperture clamped all the way down). This is a solid deal for a battery powered strobe light; has a bowens mount for light modifiers. This is the main light I use for my company, and can recommend it to anyone looking to get into professional portraits and wedding photography. Well worth the price.

The flash duration for these strobes is measured in the 10,000's of a second. And you don't generally shine it dead-on axis into a subject's eyes.

And yes, if you measure the amount of light landing on a subject with a light meter, these can provide more light than the sun can, at our location in space. This is a function of distance — yes the sun is brighter overall, but it's really far away.

Great light at a great price. I bought 2 in June at this price.
I wish they made a 400 non-TTL. I don't want to pay for a feature I'd never use.

Exactly. If you don't mind the weight/need the battery capacity get this.
I honestly think the 300 is a better value than the 400....much lighter and not much less power. My 400 sits on the shelf while my 300s and 600s go get work done every day.

Another great deal - the older style (non-Pro) Xplor600 (non TTL), with a C-stand and octabox for only $75 more: https://www.adorama.com/fplfx600bk1.html

Why would I pay 500 bucks for a light. I can get a good one for $6

Ali Express has the Godox AD600BM's for about 412 dollars without the 15 dollar reflector, free shipping

I bought all four of my 600's from them and everything was fine

These things are tanks, super reliable and good light

How does that not make your subjects go blind? Or is it just because it's only for a moment so it's not there long enough to hurt anybody

Also I think you mean the perceived brightness of the light is higher, I guarantee the total power output of the sun is higher than this light 😆

I have the non ttl, and here in texas at 90° it always runs hot with the fan at full blast. Doesn't perform well under a little heat. Never had that issue with the older ones. Also heard about batteries going bad on these units too quickly?

A light is a light. No sense in spending 500 bucks

It's OK if occasionally someone gives a dump statement about the thing that they have zero knowledge about but it's so annoying that they keep saying dumper things after being educated.
