My friend that works at monoprice told me about this deal and has confirmed that most of the subs on this sale are in fact new items. Monoprice are simply trying to meet sale quotas before the end of year. That explains why so many in stock!

I wish they would sell out so I could stop considering these.

As someone whose Monolith 12 v2 amp died after 15 months and is currently going through an RMA process, I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. If it had the full 5 year warranty, it would be tempting.

I keep hearing about these, I'm rocking a $183 Bic F12. I only use it for movies. It still works fine, but sometimes I want a bit more. Fronts are some Polk dual 5.25" towers, center is a Polk double 6.5", rears are some Polk single 6.5" in wall speakers. I'm kinda a bass head, I love it, but not sure how much better this is vs my Bic

the Polks are all entry level stuff, to my untrained ear, they're great and get plenty loud, I feel like they outpace the bass from the F12.

Has someone from monoprice said in writing this only has a 90 day warranty? I emailed them myself for confirmation, but I know in the past other folks have gotten written confirmation open box Monoprice subs still have a 5 year warranty despite what it says it the top. (It still says there is a 5 year warranty at the bottom.)

P.S. I've had 13 cancelations on this item in the last ~2 weeks. Maybe someone is looking out for me?

153 LBS? That's insane. UPS guy will want to kill me if I buy two, and how will I get it up stairs and into the house? LOL
The wife and I used shoulder dollies to get my M12 upstairs. It worked out really well. I highly recommend them for moving things in general.

That's a good tip. Why crown specifically?
Doesn't have to be crown, could be behringer etc

For one of my external amps, I did replace the fan with a 'be quiet!' fan so the fan would be silent. Could use noctua/etc

Please do yourselves a favor by not ordering this. For privilege of carrying this 150lb monster upstairs, unboxing it, reboxing it and returning it to mono price, you are paying $600. That's if you are lucky and fails within 90 days. Otherwise, consider yourself luckier since you would then have a $600 end table.

I bought 2 new monolith 15s. One was DOA. Got a replacement for the DOA unit, then the other one went out in under a month. Returned both and never looked back.

IT WILL FAIL on you. It's just a matter of time. Consider yourself warned.

I thought monoprice said even open box comes with 5 yr warranty. so tempted but got a single 15" monoprice (which to be honest is enough). makes more sense to save for new avr that will have dirac art license option (rumored to be coming to other manufacturers). either dirac art will magically smooth out 1 sub or make me realize I need a 2nd sub...

edit: hmm...funny how the 2 reviewers bought 15" previously then bought the 13". I guess it's not to bad pairing 13" and 15" since they perform about the same. just 13" has more impact due to 2000 watts.
Dirac ART will require DLBC & ideally/optimally 4 subs.
When it gets released most likely it's going to be to the higher end AVR/processors not the current level that got DL.

Took almost a decade for DL to come to mid level AVR's and right now DLBC only offered to new Onkyo/Pioneer(soon Denon/Marantz).

it might come to 3800, 4800 since storm exclusivity expired. but separately license will be expensive (require dlbc like you said). maybe even pc standalone. but so far only rumours. really hoping it's true. Will have to wait for ces, etc.

Lots of folks stating theirs failed within X months or days. But those are the with 1000W amp, and this is equipped with 2000W amp. Does anyone have any datapoint/experience with 2000w amp failing?

All these experiences with the amp failing is definitely keeping me reluctant on pulling the trigger on this deal....

This is awesome. I have a 15" monolith sub. I bought it in October 2019 and have never had an issue with the amp... maybe I'm that lucky. I deadlifted the 130 lb beast up two flights of stairs around 180° and 90° turns (I dont recommend this method). That is the only thing that keeps me from buying two of these 13"ers. That... and it's probably overkill for me 300 sqft room with 8" ceilings.

I've had two open box 15" monoliths for 6 years work perfectly. Like all electronics some fail and others last a decade.

I doubt all the over 200 13" monoliths from this sale are going to fail!

will 15" pair well with the 13" to smooth out response? (auto with room correction) or is there a lot of tweaking that needs to be done?
Wondering the same thing. Can I pair the 13" with the v2 15" or am I better off with a second 15"?

Where are people seeing 90 day warranty? There's a 5 year warranty logo at the bottom of the page.

5 Year Replacement Warranty

Monoprice™ not only stands behind this product with a 5 year replacement warranty, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee as well! If the product you purchase does not satisfy your needs, send it back for a full refund.

edit: I see it now in the text, how confusing.

Could you use the amex platinum and get an additional year of warranty?
