My friend that works at monoprice told me about this deal and has confirmed that most of the subs on this sale are in fact new items. Monoprice are simply trying to meet sale quotas before the end of year. That explains why so many in stock!

I wish they would sell out so I could stop considering these.

As someone whose Monolith 12 v2 amp died after 15 months and is currently going through an RMA process, I wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole. If it had the full 5 year warranty, it would be tempting.

Is adding a 3rd subwoofer a bad idea? My room isn't so large and I have a desk in one corner. Currently I have two monolith 15s on each side of the tv. Room is about 15 ft x15ft. Basically a square.

Im torn between this dual monolith and dual SVS PB 1000 Pro. Any insights ?
At this price this MIGHT be worth the gamble, can't go wrong with either though.

This or two smaller much less powerful subs.... People talk a lot about dual being cleaner/smoother.
I have 2 12-inch Klipsch subs rated at 600w each and think they do alright. It definitely helped with the dead zones in the living room and you don't have the super boomy zones either.

I currently have one of the subs making a low rumble at idle, and have isolated it to something going on with the sub (no audio cables hooked up). I might keep my eye on a deal for something similar to what I currently have because it definitely sounded better with 2 subs than with 1.

Not sure if that helps you, but I'd go with 2 mediocre subwoofers over 1 house shaking subwoofer if you have the space.

Has someone from monoprice said in writing this only has a 90 day warranty? I emailed them myself for confirmation, but I know in the past other folks have gotten written confirmation open box Monoprice subs still have a 5 year warranty despite what it says it the top. (It still says there is a 5 year warranty at the bottom.)

P.S. I've had 13 cancelations on this item in the last ~2 weeks. Maybe someone is looking out for me?
This Open Box product comes with a 90-day Limited Product Warranty. Is written in the description

Should I go for this or SVS SB-3000 for $750 or Bowers ASW610 for $450?

I have bowers & Wilkins am1 outdoor speakers in my 3 car garage.

Are these overkill?

I'm debating these or the rel ht1205 mk2

Will be used for music only

Based on specs and reviews this is a crazy great deal!
Based on reviews of people with failures on Monoprice amps/subs and bad CS support, this is spooky.

Is this the TRICK or TREAT deal of the year?
I need to run away from thread!
But... if everything works out Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I keep hearing about these, I'm rocking a $183 Bic F12. I only use it for movies. It still works fine, but sometimes I want a bit more. Fronts are some Polk dual 5.25" towers, center is a Polk double 6.5", rears are some Polk single 6.5" in wall speakers. I'm kinda a bass head, I love it, but not sure how much better this is vs my Bic

the Polks are all entry level stuff, to my untrained ear, they're great and get plenty loud, I feel like they outpace the bass from the F12.
Oh man I loved my BIC F12. It hit deep too around 20hz. Unfortunately it got fried when lightning struck close to the house. Id say you're going to get a nice upgrade for the price. It can go louder and go deeper to 16hz.

So. The description states 90day warranty.
It also shows a 5 year warranty near the bottom.
Previous deals have included a 5 year warranty on Monolith products(inc open box).
In the past others have been told 5 years by CS.
Prolly best to contact a knowledgeable rep and find out what is what.

Was waiting for a PB2000 to go on sale but this is too good to pass up. Already have 2 V1 15s, 5 years old and still going strong with original amps.

OH NO! They are selling out fast! Qty on hand is already down to 76.

A friend just offered me the price I paid for my Monoprice Monolith 10" THX, which I got as an open box item. I was surprised to see that it arrived brand new. Ive flogged it mercilessly for 4 years and it never let me down. So I just ordered this 13" to replace it.

After reading about Monoprice broken amp complaints and poor customer service, I understand that reliability is a roll of the dice. For every complaint, there are dozens (if not thousands) of others that have operated flawlessly for several years. A CS agent at Monoprice told me they have sold several thousand Monolith subs. After searching, I couldn't find any complaints regarding failures with this particular model (Monoprice Monolith 13" THX). It apparently integrates 4 x 500 watt amps, which is a departure from other Monoprice designs. This is a new design for Monoprice's top tier sub, so you'd also have to assume it was improved and more robust than previous generations.

Either way, this is going to be a substantial upgrade over my 10" Monolith, both for theater and music... just as the 10" completely blew away the 12" Klipsch it replaced.

If it dies after 90 days and I cant find a repair, I already have a selection of large power amps, jacks and cables to mod and power it externally. Hope it doesn't come down to that... fingers crossed!

Aghh, was debating a second 15" at some point but at this price it's hard to pass up. Should I get one 13" and run it with my 15", or get 2x 13" and try to sell the 15"?
