You read the ad wrong. It's not $30 for two, it's $20 for 2 and if you buy 3 of the 2-pack, you save $10 or if you buy 5 of the 2-pack, you save $30. Looks like you can mix-n-match with tape measures and other stuff. The 2 magnetic tape measures for $20 is a good deal.
the big corporations think we are all stupid--during covid they raised there prices by unbelievable amounts, and now they want us to think its a big deal when they lower them slightly from the higher prices--biggest example lately is the 4 ft horizontal gorrilla ladder, which a couple of years ago was a special deal for $22 , now the special deal is $49 Lowes and Hd were two of the biggest culprits when it came to raising prices

I think My home depo has already set up the bf deals. Nothing crazy except the $99 ladder & $60 shop vac. Haven't looked at the tools as I already have everything except for a pin nailer
Crap deals if you ask me guess prices have gone up and they still consider it a sale. I bought some items before like the ladder and some tools on past black friday for cheaper

So true, but unfortunately the average consumer really is that stupid. They also know that as long as they all jack prices us, people are going to learn it's the new norm. It's like gas, when gas closed in on $4 a gallon the whole country freaked out years ago. Now people have been paying nearly that much for over a year and you don't even hear people complain about gas prices anymore.
If you're referring to the platform, those used to be $19 at BF, as recently as 2018 or so. I know they were that price for years at both stores (I have one from each), and then that price vanished with COVID.
