Finally got it. The trick was to use the product expert in the checkout cart, not the one on the store page. There was a discount sub-menu option in the chat, I selected that, and told the agent I already have the edu discount. The agent I got then asked me for the name/billing and stuff like that, and provided a checkout link, it then worked without issue.

I just purchased at 7:31PM CENTRAL TIME. Still works.

First time I spoke with chat, they did not see any other promotions. I had to try again after closing browser and finding another rep.

It works. They give you a link, so CB is off the table, but still use a chase credit card for $51 back.

PS: I did do it at checkout with item in cart and EDU applied. Honestly I haven't been a student in so long.

Same. 2nd time and I got shot down again. I have a suspicion that they know my purchase history and are somehow calculating a probability of whether we'll purchase at the higher (although still discounted) price. They are not wrong. It's just killing me not to save an extra $134.
