I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

Is it easier to get the phone in store for canceling purposes? Shipping itself takes several days.

Perhaps. If you can find it in the store.

This is an important detail .. the OP mentioned that this depends on activating a new line vs new account...

Can you confirm if you activated a new line or upgraded an existing line in which case the activation date is the order date and you cannot avoid the activation fees

However if you create a new account and activate the OP mentioned that it only activates after you receive the phone and turn it on
No, your line is activated independence of your phone activation for both cases.

This looks intriguing. I've been looking for a newer iPhone for my son than what he has. But, we have T-Mobile. So for this to work I'd have to shelf the phone for two months until it's unlocked before I can activate on his current T-Mobile line??
If Verizon, yes.

With AT&T, it seems your wait can be much, much shorter.

Could you please provide the steps in case of ATT. I want to go with ATT instead of Verizon.

seems like a basic, straight forward deal.

Walmart is selling the iphone 13 for $300. Sign-up to put it on an installment plan.

If you cancel (which you should), you are obligated to pay off the phone.

Same procedure if you did signup where iphone 15 was free and on installment plan. If you cancel before the installment plan is complete, you are obligated to payoff the remaining balance on the phone.

ATT has a 14-day policy to cancel account / new line / upgrade.

This Walmart deal doesn't make you sign a service agreement, so "You won't have an ETF if you're on an installment plan or Equipment Installment Plan. You will be responsible for the balance on your installment plan if you cancel.

What kind of charges do you have to pay if you cancel the AT&T plan within 14 days?

should be no charges. the fine print doesn't say much about activation fee or usage fees during that time.

but whatever it is, I would be prepared to pay it ($35 activation, maybe a few bucks for usage while it is activate). just consider it the cost of doing business.

If you have postpaid att and your current line is paid off then I dont see why not.
