I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

My understanding is you cannot do that unless your phone is activated with Verizon. And you can activate phone with Verizon only after you receive both sim and phone. Unless someone informs otherwise, I believe the activation period of 3 days begin only once your service is activated as stated above.
Thank you so much.
So Will the total cost be 299+tax+35+prorated cost of 65 monthless fee? Am I correct?

This may as well be a YMMV. I tried to upgrade with att and got the the page where they send you a one time use 6 digit code (from att) and then the next page says "you need to complete your upgrade at a Walmart store" so I head down to the store and the clerk in electronics says "it's online only" angrily. Well maybe I misread her voice as she was not a native English speaker. I will not be renewing my SD $49/ year walmart + membership based on this experience.

Everyone should read the article from the New York Times about how these iphone deals are almost never a deal...just a way for them to make people who can't do basic math think they are getting a deal.
https://dnyuz.com/2023/11/01/thos...t-free/The

The entire premise that makes this a "deal" is cancelling service within 3 days. Refunded activation fee and prorated monthly post-paid service.

Since Verizon unlocks automatically 60d past phone activation, if you comply with the wiki, you do get an iPhone 13 for $300+tax.

I purchased an ATT phone this morning through this deal. I received an email to set up an account this afternoon and was able to pay off the phone in full. I will try the sim swap method after I receive it on Friday
Can you share you how paid the phone off?

Maybe you're too native so they have to send you to the store for security check.

Bought 3 and ported out. Will call CS when I get the final bill to reverse the activation fees.

Who did you receive email from - Walmart or ATT?
Did you set up the ATT account before paying off in full?
What was your method to pay off?

Can you point where is the 3 day policy mentioned to clarify this shebang ?

Somewhere in Africa perhaps. That's a guess though.

This is one of the rare iphone deals that is actually a deal. Iphone 13 at $300 is like when I did exactly what I am about to do with note 3 slickdeal back in like 2013…$300, pay off immediately, works with att

Sorry, but that article is talking about deals where the carrier makes the phone "free" or discounted by charging you full retail price and then adding monthly credits to your bill for a set number of months (usually 36). The problem with those is that you have to keep the phone service for the duration and can't cancel or upgrade until the term is over, otherwise you'll lose the remaining bill credits.

This deal is completely different, in that it doesn't involve bill credits. The actual price of the phone is discounted up front, so you're simply paying that price and you can pay off the balance of the phone cost at any time. You aren't tied to the service at all, whether you're upgrading or creating a new line. So the article that you linked doesn't apply at all in this case.

order placed with a new phone number, shows Nov. 14 for device delivery. Since a phone number is given during the order, does it mean the service is activated and the 3-days starts? Or the activation will not initiated until phone/sim is received? Can the full payment be requested? Thanks.
i ordered verizon, phone will also arrive on the 14. im in the same boat.
